Best would be use original 30W Sony charger, but yeah 50 EUR is joke.

If we asked that question in year 2011 the answer would be... moreThat's an excellent, relevant question. For me personally it would be something like the old iPhone SE, but regarding what the market has to offer now, even a bigger phone is a rare find. If we use the Phone Finder here and select phones from 2024 with a maximum 150mm height, we get 1 valid result: the Samsung Galaxy S24, which of course is a great phone but much more expensive, without card slot and headphone jack, and worst battery scores. Of course that given the price, the performance is on another level compared to the 10VI.
If we increase the maximum height to 155mm and keep with 2024 models, you get also the 10 VI, the Google Pixel 8a (same S24's pros and cons) and the Sharp Aquos sense8 (seems a great phone, specs comparable to 10 VI, you even get 256GB ROM for less money, but no stereo speakers, only starts with Android 13 and most important it seems impossible to buy outside of Japan). If we go back to 2023, maximum height of 150mm you also get iPhone 15, the S23 and Zenfone 10. None of these has e g. a card slot and are considerably more expensive. Staying in 2023 and increasing maximum height to 155mm, you also get the Pixel 7a/8, Xiaomi 14 (still much more expensive & missing the 3.5mm jack / card slot combo) and Sony 10 V / 5V. The 5V seems an excellent choice, but it is also much more expensive. So yeah, currently the 10 VI seems almost the only midranger that is minimally compact, light and has a card slot, a headphone jack and the like, and doesn't break the bank (that much).

I forgot to mention that I also bought the 10 VI because like someone posted below, our purchase choices represent symbolic votes, and although this phone is not perfect, is indeed a glimpse of hope in the niche segment it is aimed for.

I'm still up for this, on this weekend in my country there was 10% off from 10 VI preorder.
Usually once per month in my country certain electronic shop has 20% off campaign for everything, so would cost around 320 EUR instead of 399 EUR.

As an owner of Xperia 10 IV I'm pretty happy with that review - I plan to have a long road with my 10 IV, but if I had to choose now a new phone, definitely I would choose 10 VI.
Maybe SONY will make it more mainstream & next Xperias might be a little wider (69/70 mm), and still be very compact & easy to use with one hand.
The battery life of 10 VI is preety interesting, because it have worse times with gaming, video & calls, but better with web. Still great performance, but STILL worse than 10 V.
But when I look at 1 VI and this whole camera/video integrated app, that is not ready & SONY is planning final version of it "soon", than I assume, that maybe even software for 10 VI is not ready for new chipset in 10 VI.
I hope will se new series & I haave no clue which chipset will be in possible 10 VII, but if it will be the same Snap 6 gen 1, then I assume, that battery life will be better, because of +1 year of software optimization - 10 Iv & 10 V have the same chipset, but 10 V still have better battery life.

Edd, 25 May 2024Should I buy this one for 400 euros or a few months used 10 V for 250 euros? I would say only if it is the 8GB RAM version... I had the same doubt, you can have a brand new 10 V for 280€ right now, the problem is that it is the international version (6GB / 128GB), the 8GB / 128 GB seems only available from the USA, so with postage to my country (Portugal), it would end up costing more than 400€... easy decision on this for me, I'd go for the 10VI, the only thing worse I think is the battery life (and maybe the 3rd camera, idk).

One irritating thing about Sony is that they limit the camera experience of their cheaper phones for no reason. I'd get that strategy if they were market leaders, but for a niche brand it'll just hurt their sales.
