justasmile, 16 Jul 2023Move on, it's 2023, there's flash drives and cloud storageJust spent the weekend with my family on an island with no reception. I don't want to bring a separate camera. Oh look, my mSD worked just fine for storing all of my photos. I have a little credit-card sized holder that holds even more. So my phone, my DJI, and my GoPro all take a mSD and I don't worry about space. Seems much better than cloud storage that isn't available in the one place you need it - on vacation when I'm actually taking pictures.

Sure it may not be as fancy, tho 1000 nits of brightness is equivalent to the iphone 13 pro max and some iphone 14 models as well as other phones. Headphones jack is non existent in others, talking about them being better, well surely removing features makes them less good, same said for the SD card slot.
Moreover the Xperia has an improved Auto mode now and from samples I can see that it does come close to other flagship sometimes even beating them.
4k 120 isn't even available on any other phones except the Sony
And sure there isn't any LTPO option which to be honest is a bummer. But the battery life is pretty good anyways.
And there are so many other things that other phones simply don't have. So yh, you can't say the Sony not as good as others or like others are far ahead of it. Again other brands just removes features from there phone how about that?

Actually, Sony offered 16 GB RAM for Xperia 1 V (XQ-DQ44), currently only for its domestic market of Japan (16/512) https://www.sony.jp/xperia-sp/products/XQ-DQ44/. 1 IV did offer 16 GB outside Japan in Hong Kong and Taiwan for the 1 IV Gaming Edition.
And for the Magic Eraser thing, it's possible to do on the Xperia, but only if you have a Google One subscription in Google Photo (Sony's default photo app since 1 II). I confirmed this because I have the 1 Mark II right now.
Hi
I have received the new Sony Xperia 1 V for my birthday, after a one week, I decided to sell the phone
There’s still no clever LTPO or fully variable refresh rate tech, for example – you’ve got to pick either 60Hz or 120Hz. The latter makes scrolling feel so much smoother it’s worth the minor hit to battery life, although there’s nothing you can to stop the phone running certain apps at the lower rate.
It also doesn’t get anywhere near as bright as the current crop of flagship phones, which can pump out more than double the amount of light.
there’s no artificial brightening going on here like you’ll find on a Samsung or Apple phone
No AI-powered editing tools like Magic Eraser to remove unwanted elements in photos and Face Unblur to unblur the face of moving subjects.
The zoom lens isn’t quite so adept, introducing a lot more noise even with night mode lending a helping hand.
The telephoto’s maximum 5.2x optical zoom preserves a decent amount of detail, even if brickwork, foliage and fine textures can get a little lost. Saturation can dip, and it’s also not the strongest magnification available in a flagship phone, with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra maintaining its lead.
Rivals also zoom further and pack in more creative modes to appeal to casual snappers.
Google uses its Super Res Zoom to offer 30x zoom with impressive results.
And while there’s no dedicated macro mode (something we’re seeing more of in rivals)
There’s no pre-installed bloat,
No 16GB ram storage
There’s no power brick included in the box,
No cable and no fast wireless charger in the box.
Rivals are better and away head
Why don't you tell us which carriers it will and won't work with?
No notification led🥲
Finally, another phone with a working and real optical zooming capability. No need to switch cameras to achieve fake optical zoom.
Image quality from all camera modules are comparable to average point and shoots.
The more recent Pixels, in my opinion, have better image quality. Also, the more recent point and shoots from Canon and Sony have better still image quality.

Anonymous, 12 May 2023Via USB drive you can albo transfer files between many devices. And it is much more convenient... moreThen lest remove SD from cameras as well why not .
SD card has its advantages. What do you do if you are out shooting for a day and you storage got filed up? You have to delete on other phones, with Xperia if you have an SD card with you, you can transfer files to that. And don't tell me carrying an SD card is a hassle cause it really sits in your device itself
justasmile, 22 Jul 2023And less safe.Just saying, dude, if both MicroSD and SD cards are less safe than cloud storage, Sony Alpha and Xperia simultaneously would've ditched it, yet both Sony Alpha and Xperia still retain that features with their latest offerings (A7RV and X1V).
Samsung for life, 22 Jul 2023Micro sd card is more convenient than cloud storage & flash drivesAnd less safe.

justasmile, 16 Jul 2023Move on, it's 2023, there's flash drives and cloud storageThen you should write an email to Sony Alpha division about it, because they are the one who supervised even take control of Sony Xperia nowadays, from naming scheme to transfer of features inside Xperia since 2018/2019, including MicroSDXC/SD Card/expandable storage. And as camera division of Sony, Sony Alpha wouldn't dare removed any expandable storage from its design because it is important for photographers/videographers and that's valid for Xperia as Alpha's little brother.
Does anyone know if this comes with a built-in privacy app locker like in the Oppo Find X5 Pro?
