Was launched in September 2022. In April 2023 is yet running android 12, and they still won't tell us when they update to android 13....

I've had phones with QHD for years and the current one with FHD looks a bit washed out. But that won't be an issue for most people since they either haven't used it or can't spot it. Or that they don't care

Actually they've improved this a lot at night but I'd personally prefer if they toned it down during the daytime photos and on the portraits. The cameras here almost do better at night than in the day relatively speaking. It's good that they offer 4k stabilised video across all cameras. As far as I know there is no other Chinese branded phone at the same price that does this so it's something that the other Chinese brands could learn from (maybe the Honor magic 5 might but not sure as it's not listed clearly on Honor's website). It's about 100 euro cheaper than competitors like the Xiaomi 13 and Samsung s23 but maybe that is not enough to sell well compared to these more established brands. For 100 less it would be very good. The oneplus 11 is around the same price in Europe at least. Personally, I'd probably go for the oneplus 11 over this as I think the rear cameras are a bit better overall for photos (but I think the video quality is slightly better on the Moto). Anyway, overall it's a very good phone but the cameras are slightly behind other companies. The gap is not that large anymore though as they are improving the camera performance all the time. I hope to see the ultra model with an imx989 or gn2. That would make a really interesting proposition.

Lol Actually im gonna buy X40... moreThe good thing about the Chinese version is that it has great band support. One great thing about Motorola is they don't pinch pennies on the band support of their Chinese flagship models. Nearly all of their competitors at the same price have much worse band coverage on Chinese models. The exception is Oneplus with the Oneplus 11. That one also has very good 4g and 5g band coverage.

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2023Many brands have phones over $1000 with 1080p screen. Fhd is absolutly fine. I own Xia 13 Pro and using Fhd anyway, no need QHD on small 6,8" screen, its nonsense.

Absolutely everything is good about this phone except photo oversharpening. Motorola should work more on that

Camera just so so, not like for phone for 900-1000€. In that price most choose Pixel 7 Pro, Sony, Samsung. Even if that phones are bit older.

This phone is the proof that phones can have flagship specs and good battery life both. My earlier phone (moto z2) had a 2700 mAh battery but still lasted a day somehow. Perhaps motorola optimises battery life so well on their phones or that stock android consume lesser battery

Actually im gonna buy X40 the chinese version that is 200 dollars cheaper so im gonna say the best deal I've ever made in my life
The only problem is software update schedules that moto team is messing up but i hope they fix that too
