I am genuinely impressed with the camera's overall photo quality despite not having a direct connection to an established camera lens or optics brand. While it's not on par with the Xiaomi 12S Ultra/13 Pro's Leica Authentic or Vivo X90 Pro's ZEISS Mode, it's much more aesthetically pleasing to view than the previous Magic4 Pro because of the much less pronounced oversharpening effect and more naturally realistic processing. This is easily my favourite flagship smartphone of Q1 2023. Would I buy this Honor over the constantly-overrated Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra? Absolutely, in a heartbeat.

a review of the standard Honor Magic5 will be highly appreciated as most people (including myself ) would rather have a lighter and much practical phone in daily life .

I don't care about
- the material it's made of - always gets a phone case
- Corning EternalVirginity glass - it's getting a tempered glass sacrificial cover
- waterproofing - once in 25 years has my phone been submerged
- wireless charging, speed of charging - overplayed

4K videos are limited to 15 minutes. Honor is such a meme.

I just brought Xiaomi 13 Pro today and i can tell u guys, its absolutly amazing phone. Finaly phone where night photo is just night photo. Look at this Honor, something like Vivo, night photos seems like after sunset..

This phoned thermal throttling is shockingly bad for an 8 gen 2 chip rather have 60 to 70% sustained performance than up down line

The charging speed is slower but absolutely fine and the camera isn't just a gimmick thanks to Pixel Binning. Nothing positive of this phone matters to any sensible buyer, the throttling is beyond attrocious, especially since it uses the SD 8 Gen 2..

That phone is trash. It got so much hype, but that throttling is the worst I've ever seen I believe, that's just inexcusable

It's... moreOn launch day right here they said it was ultra Sonic and that's what caught my attention about this phone! maybe it's a typographical error * if not, it will be another one that doesn't interest me from the list! I will not go back to that optical sensor that throws a few flashes of light in the dark and I use the phone in the dark at home

I thought that they gave an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The Magic 4 Pro had one. It's better than an optical one. Also they should have upgraded the front camera to the Sony 50MP 1/2.51" sensor which supports 4K24/30/60 and 1080p24/30/60/120. That would have provided a true flagship level front camera. The Ultrawide should have been the IMX989 sensor. It would have been an industry first. There could have been 2 telephoto sensors, a 2X with 1/1.28" IMX707 and an 8X with the Sony 1/2.51" 50MP sensor. That would have brought all the sensors to 50MP providing no colour shifts and giving smooth transition between lenses. 8K isn't mandatory but having unrestricted 4K60 on all cameras is a good thing.

I thought they used an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner! They had one in the Magic 4 Pro. They shouldn't have downgraded to an optical one.

Camera on Magic 5 pro is not better than S23U for sure. Im not say that S23 is perfect phone, but it most complete until now. Charging speed on Magic 5 pro is faster ~15min than S23U, but battery drain is lot better on S23U, so it equal there. If you wan to know, for me three best smarthone so far; 1. P30 Pro 3 Mate 20 Pro 3 Mate 10 Pro . Those three are most complete phones ever for me. This S23U is also very very good phone on every category. I hope Xiaomi 13 ultra will have 4k selfie camera and better telephoto camera than S23U.
