However this mobile has no global version and is only officially sold in China with the Chinese rom so it shouldn't be possible to buy it on contract through a carrier outside of China

This phone is the biggest piece of crap I have ever had to deal with!!! Unfortunately I was forced to upgrade. I was trying to keep my payment the same and the agent at t mobile advised it was a good phone! Wrong!! But after the agent advised I signed the contract and have no choice but to live with the phone, pay it off and purchase another phone!!! Totally sucks!!!

Hell, I was surprised that the cameras was supposed to have the usual 8+2 setup, but surprisingly enough, it's 50+50+3, thank god for that
