If you want a camera phone. Get a pixel.
I have owned the 30 pro for a year and it is absolutely capable of running an otg USB HDMI/ ethernet hub and acting like a chrome book on roids.
Processor actually designed by snap dragon and AMD.
JB hifi where selling them for $399.00 so I jumped on their mistake and bought one.
Motorola know how to deliver tech in a package suited to a typical end user.
That being in this case as a no frills handset that looks great and will be the fastest phone you ever used.

DS, 11 Mar 2023How many OS upgrade Mtorola will give? And for how many years security upgrades will be given..The Edge 30 Pro is promised 2 OS and 3 years security updates. While that is bad for a flagship, it gets worse for lower Motorola models. Most Moto G models only getting 1 OS and 2 years security while E models usually dont get any OS update.
Motorola ignoring longer software support is bad for users.

Totally agree with the cons why on earth not have ip68 rating or use the same one as motorola defy 2021 and keep the telephoto camera that used on the edge 20 and edge 20 pro instead of a hideous 2mp depth camera come on motorola what were you thinking

The Edge 30 Pro is an awesome phone. But be sure that you do a network reset the first thing you do, especially if you move between mobile networks. I bought mine in Europe and used it there for a few months. Everything worked really well.
(As a side note, I got 400+ Mbps bandwidth, over LTE Advanced in Stockholm. Down _and_ up. Not even 5G. On a moving tram.)
When I got back to California, mobile data connection would be unstable, I had to toggle airplane mode to get it up again. I would miss calls, they went straight to voicemail. I then did a network reset in Android. Since then - not a single glitch.
Yes, it eats battery, if you use it. Screen and CPU use a ton of power if active. Many websites and webapps use javascript that is poorly written and constantly loops and use CPU. OTOH it charges like nothing else. I do a 10 minute top-up in the afternoon, it typically charges at 50-58W.

How come this phone, with the same FHD+ 144Hz OLED screen as the Edge 30 Ultra but with a bigger battery and a side-mounted physical fingerprint scanner, has a much worse battery endurance rating than the Edge 30 Ultra? That is baffling. I'm guessing that the vanilla 8 Gen 1 SoC really is not thermal-efficient compared to the overclocked 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

I bought this Edge 30 Pro about 4 months or so. I have had nothing but problems. The model is their "flagship" phone and it needs work. My biggest problem is phone calls. Calls go straight to voicemail....no ringing, indication I had a call. It doesn't even show up on Call History. I checked every button in the Settings, no changes. I went and got a new Simm card. I had T-Mobile check the info for my phone. Perfect. Another phone issue. IF the phone does ring and I answer it, I cannot hear the person calling me yet they can hear me. So I hang up and call the person back. This is very frustrating and makes me now feel not to buy anymore Motorola/Levono cellphones. This was my 4th one. No more. Oh, and I called Motorola Customer Support in India or Philippines, couldn't tell, and three different people could not help me. One person told me to clean out my cache. Did. Nope.

RandyRiffin or whatever the hell your name is quit hating and keep your opinion to yourself bro. Go look at the benchmarks for these phones on your list. This Motorola outperforms all but one of the Android devices you mentioned, and that being said the Mi 12 pro is a great phone but has no official North American launch....

Xiaomi 12X and Realme GT2 Pro (kind of qualify because of telephoto macro), Oneplus 10 Pro, Vivo X70 Pro+, Oppo Find X5 Pro, There are even older options surprisingly that cater your needs: Find X2 Pro, Oppo Find X3 Neo, Reno Ace, X50 Pro 5G
