The Galaxy A52s, with One UI 6.1, gets more accurate image clipping, copy and paste for objects in one image to another, improved Gallery search, new wallpaper editing features, additional lock screen widgets, an improved weather widget, customizable backgrounds for reminders, better file sharing across Galaxy and non-Samsung Android devices, and more.

Got this two years ago. Dropped it a few times and it got a scratch in the screen, after which the screen would not turn on. I replaced the screen myself but then the same thing happened. Now I'm looking for a new phone.
While it worked, my experience was mixed. it was a fast phone, it had a decent camera, and I appreciated the SD card slot. But there were a couple of quality of life things that bugged the hell out of me:
1. terrible fingerprint sensor - had to put my thumb in the precise position and any sweat would cause it to fail - useless
2. weird NFC - even after 2 years I couldn't reliably make NFC payments work first time. lots of embarrassing waits at the checkout trying to pay
these two downsides more than cancel out any positive experiences I had with the phone
these basic things are more important than camera, processing speed, or anything - they're the bread and butter of using the phone and they're dire. not a fan.

Your review is great, but there is ONE BIG PROBLEM - and this is the fact, that Samsung manufactured TWO versions of A52s - one with Sony 64mpix main sensor and one with other main sensor with only 12mpix. The second version still produces "64M" images, but they are just resized from 12mpix. Mine is of course the second version.. Other problem is heavy oversharpening.. And Samsung doesn't let user set or adjust it. But there is still a way to do a quitle nice photos - use Lightroom and DNG file format. It is still 12mpix, but quality is very decent and you can do any postprocessing you want.

Been using it for two and a half years now, and overall I'm happy. The camera is meh, and it would be cooler if the charging rate was 30 and not 25. A dedicated SD card slot is something I miss too. The display is really nice, it's my first amoled and I really like the colours.

It's a very solid mid-ranger,
I'have been usining it for a year so far
but I expected better detailed images at least from the main camera....
an haptic feedback would have been nice to have and also a more recent BT version and UFS

"Slightly worse Snapdragon 732G"
Dude, the SD732G is much worse than the SD778G, but with the Exynos 1280: a noticeable downgrade (Of course it is, nobody will tell it isn't) but at the same time the Exynos 1280 is better than the SD768G and much better than the 732G in absolutely everything.

Hi All, if I want to upgrade from my A52s 5G, what would be my best option? I'm open to buy 2nd hand or brand new from last years model. I don't play games much, but on the occasion that I want to do a Vlog perse, what would be the best value option? Thanks

Wanted to tag on this article A52s considered in the list of Best Gaming Buyers Guide phone for 2023 as ' valued proposition. Hey at least it made it in this list - when others of this same caliber didn't.

Tens of megapixels with a mobile-sized camera requires bright sunlight, and even then at least no mid-range phone camera is manufactured so accurately that the optics could really produce a picutre with tens of megapixels.
A system camera with a lens capable of true 25 megapixels costs around 1000 dollars, and is much bigger than the entire mobile phone.
If you take the images out in RAW format that is supported at least by S series, you can see the reality what the input to the post-proxessing actually is. Small details, sych as branches or bushes present the difference to bigger cameras most clearly.
All that said, mobile cameras are very good in what they do - you Instagram friends won't be wondering why zoomed-in bushes look like sea monsters and it does not matter that details are unclear if you share a pic of a route drawing or receipt.

Why does the main cam produce only 16 mp photos even though it is 64 mp (it was said in the video)? The same goes for the selfie camera. Why does it produce 8 mp photos even though it is 12 mp?
