r2244, 21 Feb 2020Why they don't make a Rugged Smartphone with flagship SoC,108mp 8K@30FPS recorder whit Optical... moreDude...NONE OF THAT is going to be $700...that's definitely not happening. Maybe if it used Snapdragon 855 or even the good Dimensity SoC, we'd be getting somewhere but not with that latest camera and processor.
What stops me each and every time of buying a rugged phone is the screen. I don't care about resolution, but if one phone should ever have a bright screen that's readable in sunlight it's a rugged phone! Ulefone does everything right but never puts a decent screen in there making this phone completely useless in direct sunlight.
I just saw the video review. It's actually kinda funny. It demonstrates the survival ability of this phone in an entertaining way. Good job, Angie!
Probably an early bug with th camera using 48mp mode
Better than CAT,for (not even) half the price..
Tried Armor 3Wt version,a 3W with walkie-talkie option, cannot believe what that thing survived..
Why they don't make a Rugged Smartphone with flagship SoC,108mp 8K@30FPS recorder whit Optical Stabilisation camera 📸 ,6000mAh battery 🔋 ,UFS Storage 3.0,NFC,Audio Jack,Radio FM,walkie talkie ,full Navigation Support (dual-band A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS),on the side Fingerprint,(Altimeter,Barometer,Geomagnetic,Magnetometer,UV light,Heart Rate,)sensors ,Dynamic AMOLED HDR10+ 120Hz Always-on display and 600-700$ price tag ! Why!?😑
Good to see some small brands getting reviews. I Hope to see an Infinix phone review soon.
The deeper USB C port and an over sensitive fingerprint scanner seem like deal breakers. Pity they couldn't iron this out. Moreover, in my opinion, a side-mounted fps is the best location in a phone.
But great battery life. That apart, I wonder what the market is for these tough phones and why don't mainstream manufacturers make at least one tough phone in their line up.
I am sure tradies and professionals who need these phones would also appreciate something compact to make it easier to handle with a single hand out in the field. And to fit into pockets in a way that it isn't an impediment to climbing and such.
Or is this too niche a marker than I know of?
I am actually considering this phone as a second phone for work. Because I have to be so careful with my new red magic 3s.
And I do quite a bit of outside work too. I am might end up getting this phone next month... Have to check my balance...
Great review GSMArena.
Make a review of Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro, please!!!
As far as rugged phones go, this is definitely one of the finest. I don't think it's fair to compare this with a 3 year old phone (S8 Active). Price is also reasonable considering the fact that it's a niche product for a niche group of users.
