you can't delete my comment cause i mentioned your mistake guys,
for a device to be labeled as 4k/QHD/FHD/HD we should look at "vertical" pixels not horizontal pixels , this is an elementary term in resolution topics.
so if a device doesn't have 2160 vertical pixels regardless of it's AR can't be called 4k
now for a device to be called a 4k 21:9 device we need 5040x2160 pixles,
which we don't have here,
a QHD device which is 21:9 would be 3360x1440 , this phone is a little above QHD 21:9 so will be labeled as QHD as simple as that ,
for those who can't do the math just look at gaming monitors at 3440x1440 21.5:9 which all are labeled as QHD! and this phone is around that .
now this review by mistake uses a wrong resolution tag and when i point it they delete my comment , this is bad, learn.

Sony Xperia 10 and 10 Plus don't have dedicated camera button? WTF? Why do they remove the good and recognizable stuff

I really like this in most ways, especially the emphasis on photography.
But why does Sony (as well as others) give us only a 52mm "telephoto". Really guys that's a "normal" in DSLR terms. Throw away th useless (especially on such a wide screen) wide angle and provide a much more useful long lens.

Scrolling through all these comments, I have no doubt all (most) of the people complaining (prematurely) about 21:9 aspect ratio will have a change of heart. I guess most companies are wondering why they didn't think of that first. A surprisingly good, well balanced and apparently objective review by GSMA. That's not been the standard by the site when it comes to Sony phones. I'm unhappy about the absence of the 3.5 jack. I'm typing this on an XZ1 running android pie. The battery life is fantastic! Definitely runs better than when it was new on Oreo (seen another argument about no way battery life can better than new. It actually can with better optimisation on firmware updates but more so with a move to Android pie) XZ1 battery capacity is 2700mah. 3300 on a Sony running Android pie, despite the screen... crossing my fingers the phone will be affordable. Also waiting for the benchmark scores. I found a score of 372000 on Kimovil ranking it "better than 100% of other phones!" :)

In fact Sony still has an ongoing battery recall from 2007 and is being sued from Dell, HP and Toshiba.

And it's all thanks to me (and my kind) who often nagged sony and forced them to follow the trend.

Anyways, new Xperia 1 is as trendy as it gets anyhow: extra elongated screen, oled, bezeless, slim, protruding triple cam with all the gimmicks, no headphone jack, hybrid stereo...
Its a trend follower dream machine now, looks just like a more elongated Galaxy phone, with some innovation tho.
