On New Year's Eve, the Redmi 12C was made official, and now it seems that Xiaomi's sub-brand is getting ready to expand the vanilla, non-Note 12 family in the coming weeks and months with the Redmi 12 sans C.

The Redmi 12 has already been spotted in an IMEI database, as well as at the FCC, which means it will most likely get an international launch, though how extensive or limited that will be geographically remains to be seen.

The Redmi 12 will be a 4G-only device, launching with MIUI 14 on board from day one, though it's impossible to tell at the moment if it will be based on Android 12 or 13. Hopefully the latter, but don't take that for granted.

The phone's certification revealed that it ships with a 33W charging adapter, which almost certainly means the device itself will be capable of that. The battery capacity should be at least 5,000 mAh, seeing as how that's become pretty much the standard these days. Unfortunately these are all the details we have right now regarding the Redmi 12, but surely more will be outed soon.

For reference, the Redmi 12C, which will probably end up being lower-end than the Redmi 12, comes with a 6.71-inch 720x1560 LCD screen, the Helio G85 chipset, 3-6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of expandable storage, a 50 MP main camera, a 5 MP selfie snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery.

If it's a new product, I'm guessing it comes with G99 or SD685. Those are the only current 4g SoC that makes sense for them to release a new product. If it's a rebrand/refresh, it will probably be of Redmi Note 11.

Mate, it's a budget version of the phone. Hence it's called the 12c. It's not from the same line the Redmi 9 was drawn from. The direct comparison would be the 9c and it's miles better than that. The comparison to the Redmi 9 woul...
