ZTE nubia Red Magic Announcement

A few days ago we found out that nubia sub-brand Red Magic would launch a Bumblebee edition of its Red Magic 9 Pro+ smartphone today, and indeed that's what happened.

It's all about yellow. And Bumblebee from Transformers. You get a lot of theming all over, including on the phone's back of course. The black and yellow paintjob definitely stands out, as it should for what is billed as a limited edition release.

There's a carbon fiber texture finish too for good measure, and of course a Bumblebee logo to complement the Red Magic one. You get fully custom packaging, which includes Bumblebee's codenames. A black and yellow magnetic cooler is bundled, as is a custom 165W GaN charger, a themed SIM tray eject tool, as well as a black and yellow USB-C cable, a Bumblebee badge, and a special magnetic case. As you'd expect, the software is heavily Bumblebee-themed too.

The special edition costs CNY 6,499, which right now translates into roughly $900 or €833. For that amount of cash you get the same specs as the vanilla Red Magic 9 Pro+, along with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It's not likely this will ever officially be sold outside of China.

I was never a big fan of Transformers but ngl the look of the phone is really good.
