Yesterday we saw some CAD-based renders of the Pixel 8 Pro getting leaked, and they gave us our first look at the upcoming flagship Google device that's expected to launch around October. Today, the same source is back with a bunch of raw CAD shots, comparing the Pixel 8 Pro's screen to that of its predecessor, the Pixel 7 Pro from last year, as well as the Pixel 8's to the Pixel 7's.
The Pixel 8 Pro's display will be much less curved on the edges, as you can see. On the other hand, it will come with corners that are much more rounded. This latter change could make for a handset that's going to end up being more comfortable to hold than the Pixel 7 Pro was.

Samsung has also opted for less and less curved edges for its Ultras in recent years, and it appears that Google is now following in the Korean company's footsteps in that regard. That isn't surprising considering the fact that Samsung is expected to be supplying the Pixel 8 Pro's display panel.
By the way, note that what you see in the 'rounded corners' comparison shots aren't bezels, as these are raw CAD shots not intended to show something like that. So don't worry, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro won't come with huge unsightly bezels. Hopefully those are never going to be trendy ever again.
The Pixel 8's screen will have corners that are rounded similarly to the Pixel 8 Pro's, and thus it too will get a less boxier look than its predecessor's. The flat screen will continue to be a feature of the non-Pro flagship Pixel.
Yes that would be too cool. Right now the 16:9 format is nothing but a 9 mp crop. They should have a 64 mp (16 mp effectively) new 16:9 sensor and a new killer powerful Tensor!
I agree, those curved sides are nothing more than a nuisance... Flat is better, looks trendier too. Is this going to have a super powerful Tensor III or a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 ? A powerful Tensor would be great! But if they don't change the camera...
