I think the resolution is fake, when using a open-source camera app the best camera resolution available is 4000 x 3000 which is 12megapixels, not 48 megapixels, so I expect the default phone app has interpolation that adds a whole lot of redundant pixels causing image files to be unnecessarily large. I couldn't start the default camera app because it wanted permission to make phone calls (Waaat da..?).
