Beta Oreo update for Nokia 5 now available, Nokia 6 coming next

With the flagship update done, HMD has turned to the Nokia 5 and brought it to the beta labs. For now, you can sign up to test drive a closed version of Android 8.0 Oreo.

So the software isn’t ready yet but if you can live with a few bugs and want to help the devs squash them, you can join beta labs.

Chief Product Offers Juho Sarvikas also mentioned that the Nokia 6 will soon have an Oreo beta as well.

There’s no firm time frame, but beta testing for the Nokia 8 started on October 25, ended on November 10 and the finalized update started rolling out on November 24. So the Nokia 5 should have Oreo in about a month.
