Mr. Electronics, 04 Sep 2019First phone that removed the 3.5 mm headphone jackBut Oppo did it because they want to position this phone as a fashionable item. Nowadays, it's about copying whatever Crapple is doing and making more money from all those wireless earbuds e-waste.
lol, 24 Jun 2021i think he meant, phones like what he mentioned wouldnt be as eyecatching in 2020. noone wants... moreThank you, that is exactly my point. Even now in 2021, we see Samsung did the same thing with the Z Flip3. The same 3,300mAh battery as last year's Z Flip 5G but with a new 120Hz screen? No thanks.

Jaiden, 27 May 2019I'm surprised there has never been a thinner phone on the market for over 5 years!Because there are compromises that had to be made. Two of the most important aspects are the 3.5mm audio jack and battery capacity. 2,000mAh battery capacity for a 2020 Android phone? I don't think so.
Mr. Electronics, 04 Sep 2019First phone that removed the 3.5 mm headphone jackI just came here to say this XD
Mr. Electronics, 04 Sep 2019First phone that removed the 3.5 mm headphone jackAnd yet most Android OEM soon to follow the same thing because of Apple.
Jaiden, 27 May 2019I'm surprised there has never been a thinner phone on the market for over 5 years!Guess how fragile that would be

Is this supposed to be a joke? Definitely doesn't feel like it's 4.9mm thick.
I used to own this phone, while it may be true that it is laggy at times, i find it extremely durable .
So if u dont mind lag for durability , definitely a recommend
im oppo r5 user and im not satisfy with it. cause its always broken. i don't know how to fixed it. all the thing inside not functioning. notification always pop out "unfortunately, google play store has stopped" help me. how to settle?
Well , as one of those who owns an oppo r5 , i strongly advise you guys not to buy it .
This is my reasons:
1. Oppo itself has stop publishing new version of system of oppo r5. Now it is still android 4.4.4.
(Even android 8.0 oreo has been published, Dafuq.)
2.Oppo r5 has a poor performance on multi tasking .
Example: When i am opening whatsapp , and then i got a notification from facebook. So, i switch to facebook. But then , when i come back to whatsapp in just about 30 seconds , the whole application was killed by oppo.
(what the heck too. Imagine when you playing moba games such as veinglory and a phone call came)
3.Oppo r5 is kinda lag when activating the keyboards . When you are tying to type message , you need to wait about 30 second for the keyboards to be activated.
4.It has a very very tiny volume of battery .
For me , when playing moba games such as veinglory , mobile legend , the battery runs out at about 3 or 4 matches.
5.It is using a headphone jack , which means , if you lost it , you can't use headphone anymore.
Last time , my headphone jack had malfunctioned , i went through all shops , even oppo China shops doesn't sell it. But , at last i finally got my new headphone jack from TaoBao .
Disclamier: I am just giving opinion base on my experiences , and not hereby to critise Oppo
or any of it's product .
I have one dead unit now according to oppo need to replace motherboard, but its only corrupted, 6K is the cost of replacement. No software avilable. Please help.
my oppo R5 is not working .. i think the battery is drained and now its not charging.. what will i do? thanks
this phone is gr8 , where can i get 1
R5 is a good phone to have. good performance but sometime got a bit laggy but you just need to kills other running apps and it working just fine .solid body but not solid button. I drop it on an edge and dented the volume button but still can use perfectly until I restart the phone. it always goes to colorOS recovery mode. I don't know whether the damage is related to my problem but i send the phone to repair already. hopefully they can fix it.
anyway, I recommend to buy this phone.
Tine, 17 Aug 2016Hi oppo! i been using this phone for almost 1 year now, im sharing my prob. since oppo r5 is ... moreWell the phone is great actually, stop blaming the brand for your carelessness. You dropped your phone twice, its your fault. They're selling phones, not IQ's :)
