Oppo K1 arrived two weeks ago with a waterdrop notch. The phone kept appearing under a different model name on Geekbench and finally arrived today at the company website as Oppo R15x with more storage.
Both phones have otherwise similar specs, including the UD fingerprint scanner and the selfie camera. The company is yet to unveil the full specs, but the key features are already outed, along with pricing and availability.
Oppo R15x arrives with a 6.4” AMOLED display with what appears to be a Synaptics optical sensor underneath it. The company claims there is a 91% screen-to-body ratio. The front-facing camera is embedded in the notch, with the speaker making its way in the bezel.
The snapper is 25 MP with over 800 detection scenes and AI features. The main setup is not listed on the website, but if the K1 formula is preserved we are looking at a 16 MP f/1.7 primary camera with a secondary 2 MP for depth-sensing. The phone runs Color OS 5.2, based on Android Oreo. The battery capacity is yet to be revealed.
Biggest difference between the two phones is the upgraded storage. Oppo R15x arrives with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage as a sole memory option. The phone will come in two gradient colors - Nebula and Ice/Glacier. The price is CNY2,499, which is around $360 or €310, with the phone being up for pre-order. Official sales will begin on November 1.
