Oppo has an Android 12 beta ready for the Find X3 Pro already

Oppo Android

Like its spinoff brand Realme, Oppo is also unveiling an Android 12 beta of its own today, following Google's announcement of its upcoming OS reaching this phase. Unlike Realme, Oppo's build should be out in the next few hours.

The beta is headed to Pixels today as well, but don't confuse the build they're getting for what Oppo has in store for the Find X3 Pro - the level of polish is likely to be very different. In fact, Oppo cautions normal users not to install this on their daily drivers. It's more of a developer preview that's being called a beta to be in line with what Google's doing, if that makes sense.

You also shouldn't expect all (or even any) of the ColorOS features to be baked in at this stage. Like in previous years when third party OEMs released new Android version betas on the day of Google IO, it's likely to be a rough around the edges showcase of what's to come.

Hopefully there will be subsequent beta builds with more features and more polish coming soon, and we'll report on those when they arrive. For now, know that Oppo is hard at work optimizing Android 12 for its devices. We're gonna have to wait and see if that translates to quicker updates than last year, but if not and the timeline repeats itself, expect a polished ColorOS 12 beta based on Android 12 to hit the Find X3 Pro in the fall when Google releases the final build to the Pixels.

If you're a developer in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, or China, and are interested in testing the Android 12 build on the Find X3 Pro, you should be able to get a hold of it through the Oppo Open platform at some point in the next few hours.
