Oppo Find N5 promo video shows off how tough this foldable is, focuses on water resistance

Oppo Android

A big part of the Oppo Find N5 marketing push has been how thin the device is – each half measures only 4.2mm. But there’s another side to it, Oppo wants you to know that this slender phone is anything but fragile. We witnessed that up close in our hands-on when Oppo strapped a 20kg (44lbs) weight to the Find N5.

Another aspect of being tough is water resistance – to that end, the Oppo Find N5 will be the first foldable in the world to be rated IPX9, in addition to IPX6 and IPX8. The first two are about surviving water jets (hot water jets in the case of IPX9), the third one is for submersion.

This short promo video shows the class-leading water resistance of the Oppo Find N5, along with drop resistance and the durability of the hinge.

The phone will be fully unveiled on February 20 (Thursday next week). It hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but the OnePlus Open 2 should be based on the same hardware and it will be widely available, unlike the Find N5 itself, which may only launch in China. We will know more next week.

apparently the phone should only cost 200$ despite the absolutely insane development with all the components and the hinge?

How does the inner screen hold up under the pressure of a fingernail? Sales of foldables is dropping... no matter what ANYONE says! They are overpriced and far too fragile! Until, and unless, the OEM's can invent a new foldable material that is ...

I lived in both, very hot and very cold countries. It's very difficult to mitigate the ambient temperature.
