Oppo Android

Oppo launched the Reno5 Z earlier today and now another mid-ranger enters our radar. A smartphone called Oppo A95 5G popped up on China Telecom’s website with full specs and official renders.

After a detailed inspection, the phone isn’t entirely new - it is actually the very same Reno5 Z, just with one camera fewer on the back.

The Oppo A95 5G will have a 6.43” AMOLED panel, and a single punch hole in the upper left corner for the 16MP selfie camera. The screen has Full HD+ and seemingly standard 60Hz refresh rate as no HRR screen is listed.

On the inside, there is a Mediatek Dimensity 800U chipset, built on the 7nm process. It will be coupled with 8GB RAM, and Oppo will offer the A95 5G with two storage choices - 128GB or 256GB.

Getting to the main camera setup, the A95 5G has the 48MP main snapper from the Reno5 Z, as well as identical 8MP ultrawide-angle cam, but only one 2MP auxilary sensor. The question is whether the macro or the depth cam got the boot, but either way it's not going to make much of a difference.

The Oppo Reno5 Z was launched at roughly $400 with 8/128 GB. However, the price at China Telecom is CNY2,399, which is $367, or about 10% cheaper. The sale has been scheduled for April 30.

I'm proud of Oppo. I have been using Oppo for several months now. I upgraded from Android 10 and ColorOS 7 to Android 11 and ColorOS 11. I like the features, App cloning functionality, Privace, idea of multiple user and many more. Thanks O...

I do agree that Oppo's habit of rebranding products is rather money-minded, but I still can't deny that they do make some acceptable products if you look past this fact. I wish they just put out 2-3 mid-range phones max. and invest time, mo...
