Oppo introduced the A53 smartphone in India this summer - a run-off-the-mill entry-level device with Snapdragon 460 chipset, three cameras, and a fingerprint scanner on the back. According to a listing at China Mobile, the company is preparing a 5G version of it but after further inspection, we realized the Oppo A53 5G is actually an entirely new device.
The phone is already on TENAA with its model number PECM30 and PECT30. It will bring a 6.5” display with Full HD+ resolution, with the fingerprint scanner making its way on the side, doubling as a power key. There are three cameras on the back, the main one being 16 MP, while the selfie shooter is 8 MP and is behind a punch hole in the left corner.
China Mobile has listed the phone with 4/128 GB or 6/128 GB memory options. It will have around 4,000 mAh capacity of the battery but given the fact Mediatek has not provided any fast-charging support to the chipset, the Oppo A53 5G is likely stuck to 10W fast charging.
Oppo will offer the A53 5G in at least three colors, starting from December 1. The price will start from CNY1,599 or about $245 but the phone is unlikely to make it outside China with this name.
It is the novelty of the "5g" branding, being an "early adopters" we pay the price for it. Believe me in a year all 5g phones will be at least 30% cheaper. It is sad since 5g atm is overrated it is unreliable and flaky on most of ...
Why oppo is overpriced from my expectation. I'm so disappointed to this brand.
