Oppo A17 appeared in leaks over the weekend, and now it is official. The smartphone comes with a Mediatek chipset, big battery and dual cameras, and its key selling point is the back panel that has a leather-imitating texture.
The Oppo A17 is built around a 6.56” LCD with HD+ resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. There is a waterdrop notch for the 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera with fixed focus. The back has a 50MP f/1.8 main camera and a 2MP depth sensor.
The Oppo A17 features dual SIM slots and there's room for up to 1 TB extra storage through a micro SD card.
The battery of the A17 has a 5,000 mAh capacity and it's charged through a micro USB port. Other highlights include a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power key and ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12. The leather back is available in the Lake Blue and Midnight Black colors.
The phone is currently available in Malaysia for MYR599, which is about $130. It is also up for pre-order in Singapore, but pricing there is yet to be confirmed.
