While OnePlus is probably hard at work on the upcoming Nord CE 3 lower-midrange smartphone, which has been leaking a bit lately, the company also hasn't forgotten the original Nord CE, the one that launched back in 2021.
Today, OnePlus has started rolling out the update to OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13 for the Nord CE, and that's rather surprising considering how old and low-end this phone is. Still, we're happy to see this happen.
There is, however, a pretty big caveat at the moment: this update is currently only destined for "GLO" models, which we assume to mean "global". So specific market versions (like one for India, for example) aren't included yet. That said, OnePlus reps have promised that another build is coming soon, and that one will be released to multiple regions.
In the meantime, if you have a "GLO" Nord CE, you can start manually checking for updates. The new build is labeled EB2103_11.F.04, and note that this OxygenOS is of the 'ColorOS by another name' variety. We're saying don't expect anything else, and you won't be disappointed.
There are, unsurprisingly, a ton of things in the changelog, including improvements to the stability of network conditions, upgrades to HyperBoost GPA 4.0 to stabilize gaming frame rate, and a new Kid Space. You also get automatic pixelation for chat screenshots, and regular clearing of clipboard data.
The full, comprehensive changelog is available at the Source linked below, make sure you take a look if you're interested.
Update for Nord CE 5g received and audio/video playback is broken. Massive distortion since this update. Do not install until issue is fixed. Smartphone useless until supplier fixed this issue. Urgently needed
