Despite what most rumors claimed, the OnePlus 3T will be shipped running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and not Android 7.0 Nougat. That obviously leaves room for people to wonder when exactly they should expect Nougat to hit OnePlus' latest device.
It turns out that the OnePlus 3T is set to get Android 7.0 in December. That's the same time frame that OnePlus has already announced for the OnePlus 3. Furthermore, the company says the two handsets will share an update schedule going forward. This means that, unless some showstopping bugs are found to affect just one of them, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T should receive future software updates pretty much at the same time.
That's bound to be some good news for people who recently bought the OnePlus 3 and may have felt left out in light of the 3T's announcement. OnePlus says it thinks about the two devices as "two versions of the same phone", which definitely makes sense when you consider how small the hardware differences between them actually are. The only thing that's still unclear is whether there will be a Nougat beta out for the OnePlus 3T this month, as there will be for the OnePlus 3.
