The OnePlus 13R is a direct successor to the OnePlus 12R from last year, and it's a toned-down version of the flagship, the OnePlus 13. It retains certain high-end features while cutting a few corners, and as a result, it comes with a more palatable price tag.
As is usually the case, the 13R adopts the previous top-end chipset from Qualcomm - the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. There's no change in the display department, with the device offering a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel.
The camera hardware gets a slight bump, though. The OnePlus 13R now has three usable cameras, adding a 2x zoom 50MP shooter in addition to the 50MP main unit and 8MP ultrawide one.
There's also a notable upgrade in the battery tech. It's now a silicon-carbon battery with a 6,000 mAh capacity. This alone should boost the 13R's battery life even more. The 12R had excellent battery endurance anyway.
The OnePlus 12R remained pretty competitive throughout 2024, so the 13R has big shoes to fill in. But with these upgrades in place, we can see this happening.
The OnePlus 13R retail box is very modest (in our European spec device at least). It contains only a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging but no charger or protective case.
The handset supports up to 80W of fast charging over the proprietary SuperVOOC standard, so you'd have to buy a charger separately.
Other markets are getting a charger, so make sure you check with your retailer of choice.
The Xiaomi 14T Pro is perhaps the best choice camera-oriented choice of them all, though.WRONG!!! Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is the best choice camera of them all!
