The OnePlus 12 is expected to be unveiled in December in China and in January for the global market. It seems that the company will add another high-end phone to its line-up shortly after that – the OnePlus 12R.
CAD-based renders and details about the OnePlus 11R sequel have been posted by OnLeaks and MySmartPrice. This new model should be unveiled in January in China and appears to be different from the recently leaked Ace 2 Pro (the 11R was based on the Ace 2).
The OnePlus 12R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, according to the leak, combined with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The flagship OnePlus 12 will almost certainly use the 8 Gen 3 chip, of course.
Another upgrade over the 11R (which is based on the 8+ Gen 1) is the addition of a zoom lens with 2x optical magnification and a 32MP sensor. This is in addition to a 50MP main and 8MP ultra wide cameras (the 11R has a 2MP macro cam as its third module).
Also, the phone is expected to have a 10% larger battery with 5,500mAh capacity and 100W fast charging. The 12R sticks close to the current OnePlus design language with the off-center camera island.
The phone will have a 6.7” display with 120Hz refresh rate and “1.5K” resolution, presumably the same 1,240 x 2,772 pixels resolution as the 11R. The display will have a small curve to its sides.
Previous R-models were also released in India, so the OnePlus 12R could follow that route too soon after or even immediately after its launch in China.
So the only reason should you go for this is the newer software- oh wait, it doesn't have hasselblad branding.
5500 mAh? So it's a heavy phone, more than 200 grams. When you have 100W charger you don't need to put this big battery on the phone and make it ugly and heavy. This is a reason why i always choose OPPO and not OnePlus.
Or recycled, lol.
