Nokia is probably keen on using 8 number in their flagships.
My personal addition is that number 8 correspond to the coming flagships from Samsung and other companies. This helps users to know each company current flagships.
Other than this, number 8 is as strong symbol in some cultures.

Two of the most known phones this year will be an 8. Galaxy s8, iPhone 8. Guess thats why Nokia chose an 8 as well.

Nokia are going to be real tough competition to Apple & Samsung if this phone has anywhere near the specs rumoured here!
Not sure about the name choice though - why the 8?
