Nokia Android

The original Nokia 6 was HMD Global's first smartphone last year, but now it's 2018 so its successor is already official.

While some retailers may have jumped the gun on the matter, today the Finnish company has announced the official availability details for the Nokia 6 (2018) in the US market.

It will be out on May 6 (how fitting!), priced at $269 unlocked. You'll be able to purchase one from Best Buy and Amazon.

The Nokia 6 (2018) fixes its predecessor's biggest problem, namely the slow chipset, as it swaps out the Snapdragon 430 for a much more decent Snapdragon 630.

The new model is part of the Android One project, which means it should hopefully receive updates sooner than its competitors from other brands. Thanks to that it also offers "a high-quality software experience designed by Google" and "no unnecessary UI changes or hidden processes that would eat up your battery life or slow it down". You should also benefit from a limited number of pre-installed apps.

The Nokia 6 (2018) ships with Android Oreo out of the box, and will be available in the US in Black/Copper only.

Thank you Microsoft for selling Nokia name and other pattents and stuff, just because you're quit with Lumias, does not mean for Nokia name to not exist on market. Thank you Foxconn (HMD) for Nokia name on phones from 2018. 7 Plus actually is not bad...
