Loved this phone. While it had its many problems, it was my childhood phone with the most character. It wasn't assuming of itself, and was almost like a private understanding. Love Love Love it.

My still works 13 years later. I think you just got unlucky, or had too high expectations from a budget phone.
I paid £59.99 for mine, that included the sim card, £10 top-up, free maps, 4GB SD card, and the cradle thing to use sat nav in a car.

I also had this model. Cheap plastic, low specs (I sometimes ran out of memory/RAM, doing not much more than using phone/SMS/calendar/Notes), bad touch experience, software and user interface slow or buggy, and bulky design. Clearly one of the devices that got Nokia out of business.

Battery still holds ... moreGreat User friendly Navigation system. Better and faster than even later phones using Google Maps. Neat little phone and quite a few (2023) still around in decent working order. Stylus was a neat little tool that was susceptible to break easily but at the time replacement styluses and the rubberized protective boot cover, as well as replacement cases was readily available. The last generation of Nokia phones that were worthy of the 5110 and 3310 legacy. Repairs by qualified technicians was rather quick, while you wait..Anything from new screens to replacement sound modules. As with previous iterations of Nokia phones I owned two (5510 I owned at least 3) and I even had those older Nokia phones with the camera plugged in like a set of earphones. It was (for me) my first foray into phones with cameras. I rarely used the 5230 camera, but for the era, the Camera was quite good.

I got this phone in white as a gift from my English teacher, along with a white Star Wars Edition PSP in November 2012. I had a tablet then, but I was only allowed to bring this to school, and that tablet started to have issues with the touch screen. It was limited compared to an Android, but I could still play music, take photos, and write stuff in it, plus it had 2 games fun enough to kill time. I used it until somewhere in the last quarter of 2014 when I started to bring my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 to school, which made my Nokia obsolete. At the time I write this, it still turns on if you charge it after months if not years of no use. I no longer have a use for this phone, except as a nostalgic device.

Battery still holds a charge & the phone is operational.
Have had many phones since; Samsung, Huawei, etc.
My latest is a Nokia G10, only $99 US on sale, so I bought 2:)

First touch phone, was pretty darn good. I used the opera browser for youtube since no java support. Had movies on SD card too.

This is my first phone. it was really very good. there was no system issues or freezes. I used to download java games with opera browser. I used to play gameloft games. wow what a beautiful times. now the screen of my nokia is broken. just one bad thing is there is not wifi support. sometimes I play java games on android but it is not as fun as when I play with this phone.
