Currently we know of only one phone that uses MediaTek’s new Dimensity 900 chipset and that is the Oppo Reno6 5G. That particular chip (MT6877V/ZA) was spotted running Geekbench inside the Oppo CPH2251. Is that the Reno6 5G? Perhaps, but it could be a related Reno device.
Geekbench 5 scores: Oppo CPH2251 with Dimensity 900
The score is pretty interesting as the Dimensity 900 is one of the most promising mid-range chipsets to be announced recently. It is a 6nm chip with two Cortex-A78 cores (2.4 GHz), a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU and a 5G modem.
Unfortunately we don’t have score results for the Snapdragon 778G yet, Qualcomm’s own 6nm chip for the premium mid-range segment and a direct competitor. We do have results for the Snapdragon 780G, however, a higher-end 5nm chip, as well as some older offerings.
Higher is better
Higher is better
From these admittedly early results, the Dimensity 900 CPU appears to be faster than the Snapdragon 750G and 765G as well as lower-numbered Dimensity chips. It will be interesting to see where the 778G slots in considering its fabbed on the same node as the Dimensity and has similar hardware too.
PS. there is another Dimensity 900-powered phone in the works, a vivo V2123A, which also ran Geekbench. Unfortunately it ran version 4 of the benchmark, so it’s not directly comparable with the results above.
Dimensity 900 seems to be the hottest choice for the users and I think there could be a couple of smartphones coming soon with it.
Yes, they added oppo's response. Pcmark is still trash, even 3.0, atleast for my sd 855 phone, and pretty much all sd other sd 855 too it seems. It scores same as your redmi note 8 pro. The prime core isnt even getting used. Not even for a secon...
