This is day 2 of Amazon’s annual Prime Day shopping event – this isn’t the end, Amazon extended this to a 4-day event. Anyway, yesterday we looked at the best smartphone deals, here we will focus on tablets, laptops, smartwatches, headphones and other interesting gadgets.
Earlier this year, Apple refreshed the Apple iPad Air line with the newer M4 chipsets – but that still keeps them a generation behind the iPad Pro line, which is on M5 chips now. Anyway, with their 60Hz IPS displays and the limited multitasking of iPadOS, the M3 chips inside iPad Airs from last year are more than fast enough. The Air tablets do support Stage Manager, by the way.
If you prefer Android, here is Samsung’s Galaxy Tab lineup. It starts with the big and small 2025 models, the 13.2” and 11” Tab S11 Ultra and Tab S11, the older Tab S10+ model (12.4”), as well as mid-range Tab S10 FE and a couple low-end models. Note that only the flagship Tab S models have USB-C with video out.
If you just want something to watch Netflix on or to scroll through Facebook, then a good screen is just about all you need. The Amazon Fire Max 11” has a good quality IPS LCD and is cheaper than most Android offerings out there.
There are also several Kids models – unlike typical Fire tablets, these do not have ads by default (though you can pay €15 to remove the ads from the other tablets too). Also, these come with a year of Amazon Kids+, which is a subscription service that offers ad-free books, games, videos and apps (including from the likes of Disney, Marvel and Lego).
While there weren’t any iPhone deals for this Prime Day, you can get into the rest of the Apple ecosystem with the iPads above or these Apple Watches.
If you are using an Android phone, you can pair it with a Wear OS watch. These are quite capable, but have shorter battery life – if you want longer battery life and lower prices, check out the category below.
We’re separating these because without Wear OS, these have more limited app support. They may lack other features like maps too. On the plus side, they have practically the same health tracking features, do a good enough job at notifications, have long battery life and are quite cheap to boot.
Are you tired of the Intel and AMD duopoly when it comes to Windows? While they are not on the level of MacBooks, these Snapdragon-powered laptops do move away from x86. Microsoft in particular is all-in on Windows on ARM when it comes to its Surface line (other than some business-oriented offerings).
We’ve picked out a selection of TWS and over-ear headphones from some of the top brands.
Most smartphones don’t have expandable storage – and this sucks even more now that storage prices are going up. Luckily, most tablets still have a microSD slot, so you can add 512GB storage for not much money. There’s a 1TB card too, but that gets pricey.
We may get a commission from qualifying sales.
