Google has started rolling out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 to eligible Pixel devices. The latest beta arrives nearly three weeks after Beta 3, which was released shortly after The Android Show: I/O Edition 2026.
The Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 update is rolling out to supported Pixel devices starting with the Pixel 6a. Notably, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are absent from the release list and have not received the new build.
As for the firmware versions, the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro are receiving build CP31.260522.006.A1, while all other eligible Pixel devices are getting build CP31.260522.006.
Google's official changelog for Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 highlights a number of bug fixes. These include a bug that caused the mouse pointer to disappear when using external displays, and an issue where the screenshot shutter sound would play even when the device was in silent mode.
The update also fixes a bug that resulted in frame drops and jittery footage when recording video at 5x zoom while panning, and more. Google is expected to release the stable Android 17 update very soon.
you also have grapheneOS .... but that for stupid pixel devices not to mention moto has partnership with grapheneOS for next generations of moto
There's been plenty of news about QPR1, but when will we be seeing Android 17? I was hoping it would be this week, but maybe next week.
