You may remember Tecno's bezel-less concept phone, which we handled at the IFA trade show a week ago. Well, we have it at the office for a closer look. Now, we're not going to cover the same ground all over again; go and check out our original piece on the concept. Think of this as more of a high-quality gallery.
The bezel-less concept phone is based on Tecno's 5G Camon Slim. It even calls itself by that name in About phone. And it reports the same base specs - a Dimensity 7300e chip and a 6,000mAh battery.
The concept phone next to its namesake, the Camon Slim 5G
But there are differences. The concept Slim is thicker than the actual Slim to accommodate the dual-layer cover glass and the wrap-around that's happening on the inside.
The concept phone is also a bit shorter and, as you'd expect, has thinner bezels (duh).
Being a concept phone, this Tecno isn't retail-ready and likely won't ever hit store shelves. It's mostly functional, but we did have substantial issues in setting the phone up initially. Then it randomly reset itself, and we had to go through the setup all over again.
The SIM tray is only for show - there's no SIM slot on the phone. Concept phones are an engineering exercise for makers - a literal proof of concept. They're fun, and they capture the attention (and imagination of people). Plus, we hadn't seen a bezel-less concept in a long time. It takes us back to the Xiaomi Mi Mix.
That is how dictators talk. Around 30% use cases so what about the rest of the 70% Never mind that the case edge don't even touch the screen cause it's locks on the frame. I want bezel less and i would like this phone maybe also as i...
You probably confuse a bezel with a phone's frame. When you hold a phone, your palm and fingers are on the phone's frame, not the bezel.
I mean, a lot of Chinese UIs are heavily inspired by iOS but this is a literal copy.
