EISA, the Expert Imaging and Sound Association, has announced its latest 2026-2027 smartphone awards. These are basically voted on by multiple EISA member publications, which have tested the products during the year using their own criteria, and there are at least five EISA member publications that have reviewed each device.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra won the EISA Photo & Video Smartphone award, as it "raises the bar for smartphone photography with its uncompromising approach" of its "innovative camera system". EISA calls it "a competitor to super-zoom cameras", and the best option for "photographers seeking the ultimate range, image quality, and creative freedom" in a smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra won the EISA AI Smartphone award, because of its "innovative" AI features like Now Brief and Now Nudge, but also the AI-driven Photo Assist suite which enables "scene-level editing through voice and text prompts". The world's first built-in Privacy Display was also mentioned, as well as the machine-learning privacy alerts. EISA says this is "a benchmark smartphone for proactive, secure, and context-aware AI".
