These are certainly fairly rugged phones. We are attempting to use them with our Blackberry Enterprise 10 server, unfortunately the BES reports that the devices (even after a factory reset) are rooted.
AnonD-19153, 24 Jan 2014So you'll accept buying iPhone 6 if it'll come with single core 500mz and 250mega ram and 8gb ... morehe has a point. look at xperia sp, has qualcomm dual core 1.7ghz but beats quad core 1.2ghz mediatek.
http://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/mobiles-on-a-plan/telstra-dave/ its been in australia for some time now
I would rather prefer it running android 2.3
This phone has been offered through Telstra in Australia for the last few months. Its called the Telstra Dave.
We have these in NZ already. Sold under provider Telecom as the Telecom R83

This has been available on New Zealand as a 'Telecom' branded device for months now. Their version also appears to be 4G capable.

AnonD-121521, 24 Jan 2014its a phone for builders ete, folk who actualy "work" for a living, unlike journo's/b... moreAmen!
I actually have a job that's hazardous to mobiles.
High plases, dust (including metallic dust), liguids, freezing and hot teperatures.
I wouldn't want my 700euro flagship to fall 2 meters , in minus 20 degrees celcius (just like the other was day here in Finland) to concrete that has all cind of stuff on in.
Thats why i use mobiles like ZTE G601U at my work, theyr cheap, durable and capable on everyday use and the battery on this lasts for few days.
Now i have xperia E! Its cheap and yes its outdated and slow, but it gets jod done. And i dont have worry to loose too much money at ones...
fonehunter, 24 Jan 2014If hardware have been bumped up because of "crap" android, then why is the hardware ... moreMarketing. Because people think more = better. So if they see an Android with 4 cores they automatically think it's faster/better and want to buy it even though another OS can do the same with 2 cores.
If hardware have been bumped up because of "crap" android, then why is the hardware in iphone, windows phone (and probably all other OS) being upgraded as well?
Hello 2012!
its a phone for builders ete, folk who actualy "work" for a living, unlike journo's/bloggers,so they want a basuc phone to a decent usable spec, this device is ok,its not gonig to be used for much heavy media work etc, folk are busy working, not ponceing about playing games etc, perhaps 30 minutes at lunchtime etc, more spec, less battery life, higher price.
if folk need more spec after work, they will go and get a second device.
kitkat has alledgedly been recoded to run properly and better on low to mid spec devices and not just overpriced ubervphones.
thats why device specs have had to be driven up so hard and fast lately, the fact that android is crap and only brute forced into working at all by using grunt power, efficent, andriod,ha ha ha.
its getting better, now its just crap instead of dire.
I prefer Runbo X6
looking cool.. ;-)
