David44, 11 Jan 2026It's such a failure that loads of brands have released their own! 😂Typical haters and the... moreI have Baseus mc1(non pro) and it is just great with open design: no ear wax on earbuds, do not drop easily, comfortable even for hours, i can hear everything around me and in top of that great sound with right settings, good battery life and great mic for calls.
Only issue for some is that these cannot have any kind of active noise cancellation, but i use Sony CH720N when i am on a plane or train for my noise cancelling needs.
I actually bought some Chinese cheap 2-in-1 smartwatch(i have bought non freeclip style one before i bought Huawei Watch Buds and that cheap smartwatch was okay with working timers and alarms and no connectivity issues) with freeclip desing earbuds and for the price earbuds are okay even thought much worse(comfort, sound quality and especially mic for calls which was terrible voice quality) than those Baseus but that smartwatch part of the package is just awful with issues like connectivity, badly working alarms and timers and those health tracking is just fake(which i knew before buying but if that would have no connectivity issues and timers and alarms would work i would have considered actually replacing my Huawei Watch buds with that).
I hope some oem will make proper 2-in-1 smartwatch with freeclip style earbuds which would have good comfort, sound quality and great mic for calls and smartwatch part of that would have decent battery life(at least 3 days) and no issues with connectivity or alarms or timers, i would buy those even if it would cost 300-400 euros!

Its hard to believe Huawei still pursues this after a spectacular fail of the first generation. And it seems they dont understand this conceptually has no future. They even claim they boosted volume by 100% this time, but that is not enough.

I hope there will be Huawei watch buds 2 with freeclip style buds.
Only issue I have with og Huawei watch buds is that earbuds need to put inside ear which feels bad and is not so hygienic compared to these freeclip style buds.
It is so easy and great having earbuds on your wrist and having to charge only one device instead of two.

I really hope the review will also test the phone with nearlink
I really wonder how good nearlink is
I read that it can reach 20meter, 40 meter and the sound still perfect
