I'd rather use an NPU, or even dedicate some on-device RAM, for localized Gen AI tasks (especially where sensitive data is concerned) over using a cloud-based AI service any day.

I liked Bixby even if it was crappy because it was Samsung's own. I don't want anything go to some random 3rd parties like OpenAi or Perplexity through Samsung's tools and services. It's just so stupid.

A better Bixby would be nice. Bixby is not so good, but it can do more things related to the hardware than Google Assistant. So if Samsung can improve Bixby, it’s going to be a better assistant.

Samsung will do better if user can uninstall bixby for good.
Just like with Gemini and many else android so calle dassistands.

Obviously you either get slower or less powerful processing running things locally, but unless you're one of those knobs spamming social media with AI slop videos, you'll be fine.

Apple Intelligence went the completely local route and it's been terrible since it debuted, plus it eats up resources and drains battery

Give me an AI assistant which is guaranteed NOT TO SHARE any of my data outside of the device, and perhaps I'll use it. Until that's not an option, sorry, thank you.
