Samsung could have easily make an Exynos-powered Z Fold and sell it as an FE model. I know a lot of those who are more than happy with current Exynos 2400/2500 chip and don't need more firepower.
So much info lacking in this article: second foldable will be with the same battery like last gen, the same cameras etc, something may be different like thickness or chip, Im not sure,
While real fold8 next gen or ultra if you want, should come with bigger battery, pen support and maybe even better cameras. But considering samsung's new 3fold got 10mp 3x, amd ultrawide, I can o ly be pessimistic and guess that 1/4" camera will be in that 2000 euro phone.
Samsung is probably trying to undercut Apple prior to the foldable iPhone announcement. Similar strategy as the S25 Edge.
For anything except for multitasking, the square screen nets you zero extra benefit over a normal phone. We need an inner screen ratio of either 4:3, 16:9, or 16:10.
"...Let us know in the comments which you'd prefer: a Fold FE or a new Fold with a square internal screen and an 18:9 cover display?"
Neither, really.
I wish it had an SPen
Samsung makes the displays for Apple and knows what Apple will be releasing. Interesting how they're using that knowledge to release a competing product before Apple releases theirs. But still, the Samsung Edge that was released earlier than Apple's iPhone Air was a complete failure.
Dear Samsung we already have enough models, please stop confusing everyone with your schizophrenic and disorganised naming schemes.
I would definitely prefer a new Fold with a square internal screen and an 18:9 cover display because this is something that is more unique and interesting. Z Fold SE would be very boring but maybe successful from sales perspective as iPhone Air was also very interesting but it didn't sell that well. iPhone Air sold better than the Plus iPhone but still behind and such is the risk of making a new form factor.
More like Huawei Pura X
ME HERE PRAYING it is something in the size of the Huawei Pura X. Such a nice phone, but sadly only for China. Love the size of that phone.

A bit funny. If they try to lure price consious buyer then they might indirectly kill flip or flip fe buyer. For hardcore enthusiat they might migrate to trifold. Nevertheless fold 8 maybe the last fold.
it will be a long time before cheap foldables come out.. they will make new ones to steal more of your money.
