If you can adb pm uninstall the OKGoogle, XGoogle & Gemini, Gearhead (Andoid Auto)
Maybe the OS usage is around 3GB-4GB in Android 16

After all, it's tone-deaf to consider a cheaper option available in a pinch, at the time to judge a brand's image, knowing you only looked for something cheap as chips with a clear idea of its bare-minimum specifications to serve its purpose. After all, I could ask you to keep your opinions to yourself too.

And coming from someone from a third-world country where imported goods have atrocious pricing, you may not have experienced what it's like to overpay for items that are essentially dirt cheap compared to the neighbouring country, all while struggling with a budget lesser than an acceptable minimum wage.

Frankly thousands of options would have been better, but what was available in a pinch, at the time, was what I went for.

Well the virtual memory will be more common in phones for sure.

Anonymous, 16 Apr 2025It's work, but not as advertised. It's a poor man solution, a band-aid.Any OS, including Android, already uses this "RAM Plus" mechanism (known as Z-RAM) in the first case even if you turn that RAM Plus feature off from Settings. So turning this off and on doesn't matter, because in the end your phone will keep using MBs of storage on your device as a random access memory. That's why I call it a BS.

Ok so looks like the promises for future Android version upates means you will downgrade your 6gb phone right now into an Android Go version in the next years or so

So much for android version updates ig? 🤷 This also means if you want to use your phone in the long term, you have no option but to buy a midrange phone, with budget phones left in the dust.

At this point just go for iPhones. Hated them but their updates are much generally much better than Androids.

What even warranted the 6gb minimum for full Android? They barely even add features to the ecosystem right now for the GMS suite. My experience from Android 10 to 15 hasnt even changed even for a bit.

Snelle, 16 Apr 2025Try offline maps apks like OsmAnd+ which has nothing to do with Google. OsmAnd+ is the one that I used
I think its good, but Google Maps is better because it has more data.
Such as if you want to know the store opening time etc.
My solution now is to check google maps with web browser
                            Then use OsmAnd+ for driving
