Anyone can use the alert slider in dark without looking at the screen or waking up your phone. A button will not do so. One more reason I am loving my OP13 more!

Hopefully these rumors are false. I love the alert slider on my OP13 and it would be a deal breaker not to have it. It's the reason I even started looking at OnePlus phones in the first place. Hopefully they place a button on the other side of the frame and keep the slider.

AnonD-814624, 18 Feb 2025Interesting. Didn't realise any Vivo phones had an alert sliderOnly the X Fold series has it and the X Note.

Not so long ago some wanted to move to devices without any buttons. Now, in a short period of time, they shifted towards having more buttons, even if they are of the crappy haptic kind (yes you Apple). Maybe it's time to make up your mind, less or more buttons? Maybe we will soon go back to full tactile keyboards and navigation buttons at the bottom(I would not mind)?

better they just add another camera control slider in-place of button just like they showed minutes after apple introduced their camera control "button".

AnonD-814624, 17 Feb 2025I thought you were a Vivo/Iqoo user? (vivo iQOO 5 Pro) I was, but I've switched to a vivo X Note, nearly 2 years ago and that's one of the 6 vivo phones with an alert slider, a 2 stage one so it's either vibrate only or full sound. I do also have a OnePlus 7T Pro which I use sometimed when I feel like it.

DarlingYext, 17 Feb 2025I use the slider on my device every day as well, which is why a button instead of it sounds useless.I thought you were a Vivo/Iqoo user? (vivo iQOO 5 Pro)

Great. This seems like it will be a lot more flexible than the alert slider. Removing it and not offering anything to replace it would be a negative thing but replacing it with something that is more flexible is a good thing imo

The slider is a staple feature for OnePlus. And it's very useful, especially wshen re-programmed to your liking.

I feel a button would be less versatile, since you can only just press it in or maybe double press it. The slider has three positions for various things, and it really is a handy feature to have.

It will be sad to see it go, if the rumors are true.
