Anonymous, 13 Feb 2025No defense, but I am surprised that the Xiaomi brand has a 1000+ price phone. Its been like this for the past 3 or 4 years now
jiyen235, 13 Feb 2025leaks and rumors have been pointing towards that Show me at least one of them
Aierlan, 13 Feb 2025I hope Xiaomi can bring some camera innovation or other innovations to their products at some ... moreTo actually use features of sensors more? They advertise it, might as well use them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yf_aWH0sjpk&t=12s&pp=ygUaZHVhbCBjb252ZXJzaW9uIGdhaW4gdmlkZW8%3D
I hope Xiaomi can bring some camera innovation or other innovations to their products at some point. So far they haven't done anything innovative but rather have just followed Huawei e.g. Huawei introduces a night mode, Xiaomi follows, Huawei starts a successful partnership with Leica, when that ends Xiaomi takes it over. Huawei reintroduces a variable aperture and Xiaomi follows. Huawei/OPPO introduce the first periscopes and Xiaomi followed. Huawei changes Emui to Harmony OS and Xiaomi later changes miui to Hyper OS. Others also introduced focus tracking and sports modes for taking pictures of moving subjects and Xiaomi again followed later (their sports mode although improving a bit is also way worse than Huawei's, Vivo's or even OPPO'S). I'm still waiting for them to have some hardware innovation that others follow, rather than always following others. This year they will introduce their own processor but it won't come in the ultra but rather in another phone rumored to be the Xiaomi 15s pro. At least this will be their own tech instead of just using tech from others. They are always harping on about R&d but so far they have just been following others, especially Huawei who continue to innovate. We'll see lots more innovation with the Pura 80 ultra for example. It may not be better but it will have Huawei's own tech inside
Excellent, I'm so happy the price hasn't increased..we all will make sure there are enough phones in store available (by not buying any single of them) so all Chinese fangang here could go and get one. After all we're good people with big hearts, we wish them happiness and great experience with Xiaomi products ;)
these phones are out of reach for most of the people.
Hardware Hypervisor, 13 Feb 20251500 € for a xiomi is wild All these fanbois are paying higher price to subsidise xiomi users... more1/3,52" f/2.4 3x, 1/2,51" f/3.4 5x, 16-cell cfa main cam, hotter and slower sustained performance than ofx8p, just pro level speaker setup at best, color-banding screen and usb 3.2 gen 1 instead of usb 3.2 gen 2 is so "ultra" and periscope going from 1/2,5" to 1/1,4" sensor is much bigger than replacing 12 mp 1/2,55" with 50 mp 1/2,51" ultrawide.
1500 € for a xiomi is wild
All these fanbois are paying higher price to subsidise xiomi users in china
And it's still the same thing as last year.
No anti reflecting screen even with "ultra" in its name. Nothing new.
When the bluff is called, chinese phones will be exposed.
Aierlan, 12 Feb 2025To be fair though Xiaomi had high pricing last year with large profit margins in Europe. The X... moreyeah all this just makes past xiaomi super duper greedy i mean the 13 ultra, 2 years ago, had a 1500 euro price tag..... Change the numbers up for inflation and you'll see how ludicrous that pricing was.
And don't bring Samsung up man they're the king of greediness. In a lot of countries, even tho they sell the exynos variants, the prices are higher than other countries' snapdragon variants. It's all shady.
AnonD-1187531, 12 Feb 2025You were talking about the price not changing, even after a new SoC. I'm saying that for ... moreI highly doubt Xiaomi of all companies had that many sales. They had sales, ofc, but Xiaomi's Ultra phones? Nope. Even Oneplus struggles and they create some of the best value phones in the world.
I just think that Xiaomi's finally coming to its senses and not to mention the fact that 1500 euros is ludicrously expensive so I'm sure that they don't want to go further beyond this not only cus they need/want more sales but also because it'd be a huge dent in their brand image. They've reached the ceiling of pricing for a non Apple slab phone. Unless they provide a 1 TB model, i wouldn't really call a price hike justified and even then the price should be 1600 euros at best. Since it's an "Ultra" phone for "photographers" they're gonna take hundreds of shots and 1 TB is gonna be a necessity cus these greedy brands don't give us microsd card slots anymore.
Like I just wonder what people are supposed to do. There's no 1 TB model nor is there microsd card support. How is someone supposed to regularly take RAW photos/LOG videos and then NOT have to deal with storage issues daily? I filled up my 256 gig S22U within a few months of conservative normal mode use. These phones need to up the bar to 1 TB, preferably with no price hike as well.
In short, Xiaomi wants more sales and higher prices would be goofy and I think Ultra phones need to be 1 TB at 1500 euros from next year.
Bot10Exists, 12 Feb 2025having both 4.3 and 3x seems a bit pointlessif you use both focal lengths you'll understand that on paper they're too close but in reality they're different enough to warrant an added lens, especially in portrait mode. Besides, the zoom range is gonna be epic from 3x to 10x. I think it's a net positive having a 3x even if the difference between the two telephotos isn't large in terms of focal length.
Techgg, 12 Feb 2025Who told you that the find X8 ultra is going global ?leaks and rumors have been pointing towards that
Of course they dont increase the price.
It has no 7 OS upgrades, no software development, not so impressed features, no secure chip to store user data, mediocre AI, etc.
But atleast xiaomi can get extra advertisement revenues from the pop up ads in every xiaomi phone.
No defense, but I am surprised that the Xiaomi brand has a 1000+ price phone.
CamoGeko-XDA, 12 Feb 2025Lmao and again Xiaomi doesn't release their best device model, the Pro. Who is even makin... moreThe pro basically though is not much better than the Xiaomi 15 at least for cameras. It's got basically the same main camera and ultrawide performance but is worst for zoom up to 4.9X. From 5x it is better for zoom but you could argue that in daily life the 2-4x range is probably the most commonly used. I think the pro is the one that makes the least sense. May as well get a Vivo x200 pro for the same price with significantly superior camera performance unless a 2k screen is a priority.
1100?
That must be a joke ahajajahajajshdsj
At any price above €700 the Xiaomi 15 will be DOA.
Last year the €1000 European price of the Xiaomi 14 was a shock. I got my hopes up that it would be a relatively affordable compact flagship after seeing it launched in China at the end of 2023 for ~€600. With ALL the taxes on top and there is no justification for €1000!
In addition, the Xiaomi 14 was made DOA by the Galaxy S24, which was even more compact, cheaper!!!, came with 7 years of security updates boosting its long term value and had a brand name that was at a completely different level. The Xiaomi 14 had a few upper hands but nowhere near enough to offset its price and 5 years of security updates vs. 7 years.
Ironically, the Xiaomi 15 will be made DOA by the same "old" S24 in an even more categorical manner. The S24 retains all the advantages it had over the 14, with "just" 6 years of security updates left, but now it's massively cheaper at ~€650. The Xiaomi 15 looks like a joke in comparison. €1000 for what?
Lmao and again Xiaomi doesn't release their best device model, the Pro. Who is even making these decisions??
All mobile company now must bring there price reasonable like base model 300 dollars, pro 350 dollars and ultra 500 dollars and that also in two sizes, like 5.5 to 6" and 6.7 to 6.9", because more than 50% people prefer small size with ultra leavel.
