Seeing the clown fest happening in US of A, the last thing you want is government having access to private citizen data. Because in politics, money is always involved and money being involved also means corporations and people like Elon Musk are leaving their snail trail.
But they always use the excuses like "think of the kids" or "muh terrorism" to force into user data. UK has been particularly creepy and weird in this regard. Spying on millions of people has never solved any of it, you just put all those millions at risk of data leaks because clowns who demand things like this have no clue how this affects everyone outside of their little narrow field of view.
No, this is so messed up. The UK Government has already started witchhunts for people due to their online presence, and this is an extension of that. Not only can the UK Government now find your social media posts and procecute you for that, they can procecute you by sifting through your personal secret data.
I hope Apple does the right thing and tells the UK Government to stick it. This is not right, and is the next step towards Soviet era monitoring of personal lives.
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025"Give me all the information about everyone" is not a "we're fighting crim... moreA lot of organised crime in the UK has backing or at least influence from people in other countries so isn't too fair fetched.
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025Doesn't this prove that Android isn't secure?Doesn't prove anything like that.
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025Apple, just leave EU. Then only they will understand. But Apple investors, who only want to see numbers go up, won't.
I assume Google has already discreetly complied?
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025Apple, just leave EU. Then only they will understand. UK isn't part of the EU. Ever heard of the thing called Brexit? So Apple only needs to leave the UK.
oi do you have a loicense for that wrongthink?
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025Apple, just leave EU. Then only they will understand. What does this have to do with the EU? It's the UK being regarded
The government aren't that ones who will access it directly. When needed, they will have employees that will access your phone for them. This can be open for abuse. It's similar to how some bank employees know your bank transaction and details. I wouldn't want to buy a phone that have a backdoor for anyone. It's nuts if Apple would agree to this. If they give in to the UK, then what about other countries that they too demand backdoor access?
Law enforcement agencies think the worst proposal so far, police using signal journalists using signal compromise is a bad idea and no security apps will remain in the UK, end to end encryption is a must
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025The UK is not a police state. This is just designed to combat organised crime.Problem is that any country can be like that during one term, so it's better not to give too many tools to politicians and the police.
Besides, anyone who has a normal life and sometimes parties can be affected by such back door.
Don't Buy Apple and change with Pixel! It's more flexible with Stock Android and Pixel have M2 Titan Security Chipset and you can install any De Google Custom ROM!!!
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025The UK is not a police state. This is just designed to combat organised crime."Give me all the information about everyone" is not a "we're fighting crime" move.
Since when does the UK determine what happens around the world?
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025The UK is not a police state. This is just designed to combat organised crime. And I'm sure it'll ONLY be used for that. Not to target people who commit wrongthink.
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2025I hate living in a police state. The UK is not a police state. This is just designed to combat organised crime.
Doesn't this prove that Android isn't secure?
