For 500 euros, you can get a more than decent phone wit... moreNot in USA, the mid range market in USA is trash - For all the open concept modernist kitchen loving soyjak things done in this price range of phones like removal of headphone jack done by Apple, that is also done by Samsung now and Google pixel - So it makes sense to stick with the OG Apple anyway if it costs the same and the androids are emulating the same "futuristic" marvel soyjak reject tendencies - This may sound US centric but that is Apple's big market, also the iPhone SE series seems to be popular in Japan as well so I can see it selling good there when the last SE is from 3 years ago.

At the end of the day people prefer a big phone to consume media, small screen + bad battery life are big Ls.

You had 12/13mini for fullfing that requirement, but mini line was canceled because of its unpopularity. So,no, Apple defenitely doesn't shoot itself in the foot by making SE a normal-sized phone.

For 500 euros, you can get a more than decent phone with a complete set of features. Nowadays, mid-range phones (for me, 500 euros is the upper limit for a mid-ranger) are very well equipped with technologies that were once exclusive to flagships. On the other hand, what is Iphone SE? What does it offer?

Yes, IOS is exclusive to Apple that is true, but do you really need a phone that offers less for an OS? It doesn't seem logical and he is right, for 500 euros you can get a phone that can call, game, watch content and take good quality photos (albeit not as strong as the flagship ones obviously, but it still does a good job at it.)
I doubt anyone getting a phone for that price point cares about just the OS.

You may like it or not, but that's a unique just for Apple.
So, when you want to buy an iPhone, you want it because you like the operating system.
Why do people constantly comparing iPhones with Android like they're offer is the same? Probably because they see just a 2 phones. They are not just two phones, they can't be more different from each other.
Android is FREEEE to use on everything. You can have it on your toster or fridge for free. It is everywhere because it's free.
Is iOS free? It is not. Only Apple use it. But hey! Who cares. They are both just phones right?
