Nope. Not buying. Though I've been loyal with Asus all these years but seems like they don't me to continue with Asus anymore. Searching for options to replace my current Asus ZF7 pro.
It's too close to the ROG 9's starting price. I'd rather pay the extra hundred and get the base ROG's niche features.

"OnePlus is a bit stingy with OS updates "
When did 4 whole years of os updates become stingy
Anonymous, 10 Feb 2025I'm not buying any chinese spyware. And murica with its behavior now... Only Samsung, Son... moreI don't buy anything made bby Asus ever since they sold me a faulty motherboard. I learned my lesson.
Now I only buy xiaomi, Motorola, infinix, ulefone and maybe Sony. If you know any other good phone manufacturers let me know in the comments below.
It's a 850€ phone. Not a 1100€ one.
I struggle to find any advantages against a 750€ OnePlus 13R or even a Nothing Phone 2a plus for that matter.
I'm not buying any chinese spyware. And murica with its behavior now... Only Samsung, Sony, and Nothing are left.
Definitely not. Other than having the 3.5mm port it's a forgettable phone with insufficient software support. All the name brands have QHD+ displays and way more updates at a similar price.
Only potential upside I see is if you're one of the 6 people who care about charging speed it gets 65W without a proprietary charger (it's just PPS despite what Asus pretends). That's important in a world where the EU has made including a proprietary charger impractical.

I guess some phone users don't mind when the phone has only 2 years of OS support, but when ASUS withdraws the bootloader unlock, this definitely stops us from getting it.
I would if Asus (and others) started talking to Graphene OS and having their phone compatible with it.

I say because motorola has chinese screen. Quality is far behind compared to Sharp, LG and Samsung panels ..
Boe does not even pass quality demanded by Apple.
It has been trying in vain for years

Guess why realme and oneplus get components throught oppo instead of their own.
Whoever can pay €1000 on cellphone , surely not going to keep even 3 years.
And look at galaxy and iphones. Get slower after updates. Trash performance after 3 years.
NO
I'd love to buy a high-spec phone like this (or a ROG) but high spec to me also includes storage like now available 2TB micro SDs.
Since Sony won't release the Xperia 1 VI in North America I'm stuck with the XCover6 Pro. I'd give up the removable battery in that for an ASUS phone (even though there's no excuse for omitting that feature either) & maybe even the reduced software support but not without a micro SD slot.
ASUS phones should be a natural fit for PC gamers & longtime ASUS customers like me but needlessly reducing capabilities to Apple-ify your product & try to profit off storage upgrade rip off pricing like Apple is leaving my money on the table (that I'm dying to give you) ASUS.
2TB micro SD is easy to fill between 20 years of music, podcasts, some videos & extra space for phone camera pics & video, 1TB of phone storage is a joke for a power user & no a 1.5 TB storage upgrade won't pacify me. Give me storage upgradability!

No way they couldn't, when they are releasing so many pointless phones like the ROG Phone 9 FE, which just shouldn't exist.
