sevachka, 25 Dec 2024Could someone check the kind of SSD it has? Is ist exchangeable? Does ist use NVME as connection?I found the service manual and there is clearly a ssd socket visible which is empty. he UFS storage is soldered.

I have the Honor Magicbook 14 Art Snapdragon since one week and it's really incredible how much difference 300gr in weight make compared to the Surface Laptop 7 13.8 for example.
If you carry your laptop a lot with you, this device is sooo nice!
I can't say a lot regarding battery life yet, but it's unfortunate, that you can't set a screen resolution to reduce battery consumption which still looks good while maintaining the 3:2 aspect ratio.

To be clear I had a MacBook Air M1, M2, M3, and MacBook Pro 14" M1, MacBook Pro 16" M1, and using a 14" M3 Pro now. I also had a chance to test a Surface Pro 11 with SDX Elite. I was in China a few months ago and playing with this laptop in the Honor store. This laptop is a piece of engineering marvel. Apple's build quality, customer support, and reliability are amazing. I'm hoping Windows OEM will also pick it up. But, software-wise, that's where Apple struggles.

I live in Beijing and mine just arrived today. No flex on the body. Minor flex on screen, but honestly better than any light laptop I've ever tried.
Main selling point for me was the weight - i hate travelling with heavy backpacks.
All working good after a Windows license upgrade to Pro so that the OS could be change to English (standard affair for any laptop purchased in China).
Only thing to sort out so far is how to enable dynamic refresh rate - the Windows default feature is disable due to some incompatibility.

You wouldn't comment this bulsh*t... moreMacBooks are clearly better at performance, but for battery life, they are nearly identical to new Qualcomm powered surface laptop(there are many tests online), and this is probably better than surface laptop 7 because it has around 50% larger battery, and better than the MacBooks.

The weight sounds cool but does it flex? Because the macbooks don't. Alao does it have a fan and vents? Is it's touchpad as good as on a mac? I'm a windows guy but hardware wise nothing comes close to a macbook..

This laptop is more innovative and useful than the Apple MacBook Air. Lighter in weight with a bigger screen real estate and better aspect ratio (3:2), combined with a good performance and battery life ratio, as well as aesthetically pleasing design.
I'm saying this as an Apple MacBook Pro 14" user. Apple hardware is good but their design philosophy and innovation stopped with Steve Jobs' passing, resulting in MacBooks without touchscreen and powerfully castrated touchscreen tablet in the form of iPad Pro.
