However, i expect smart watches to look futuristic and not copy old tech. Casio's G-Shock square is popukar for a reason. Also, when the watch is square or even pill shaped then the crown doesn't dig into the backside of your hand. Also, futuristic = digital watch, not analog, so circle doesnt make sense.

But IMHO, a square or even pill shaped watch does it much better and is more comfortable. So something like Amazfit Active or GTS 4, or Huawei Watch Fit 3, or for pill shaped Xiaomi band 9.

Casio for example knows this, and only uses circular on analog watches. The G-Shock square is their most popular watch for a reason.

Just bought my 1+ watch and I was unable to link it with my Vivo x100s pro. Tried it on my wifes Xiaomi 13 pro. No luck. It seems like Chinese os mobiles cannot be linked with not chinese smartwatches.

Watch should tell you time, g... moreSamsung had a winning formula for their watches when they used Tizen. Battery life was way way better there than anything wearOs has done in a decade.
But since they love to harvest data with Google, they can take an L from me bc I aint buying their crappy wearOS watches

But then again those people don't use AlwaysOn Display which then defeats the purpose of looking like normal watch when it's blank... Though there are also square or rectangular regular watches. I have a Ciga Design automatic watch that is square and roughly looks like frame of Apple Watch, but has a mechanical movement inside and is just a regular watch. Rolex made rectangular watches in the past and several other Swiss watchmakers too. But circular is most common still.
I've had Apple Watch 5 and now I have Galaxy Watch 4 and I frankly don't see major usability difference. Sure, you're missing corners, but everything is designed to fit into circle anyway so it's not like you have text cut off or something. So it doesn't really make much of a real difference.

Watch should tell you time, give you notifications, training and health info and have few useful apps like calculator media player control and maybe navigation instruction.
And to be honest Wear OS is overkill for it especially taking in to the account how it massacre battery. I get annoyed when my amazfit give me 13 days and wearOS people cant get even two days... and my amazift can do almost all what average user need plus its just quicker and easier to use. So when I read that people complain about aspect ratio of watch or brag that they can finally change face faster I cant do anything beside laugh...

Stuck with circular Samsung galaxy watch. Wish they had both shapes as options

I find a watch face for my watch and play store says "This app is not compatible with your device". I know it is compatible but play store thinks I am trying to install the watch face on my phone. Did I say "Play store thinks"? Sorry, I didn't mean that...
