Man, moving away from 18-35-85 to 13-35-70 seems wrong. The former is such a classic trio in photography (18mm can be 16mm or 17mm, but it's around there). Also, the 13mm equivalents are terrible because the lens is actuallly not fully rectilinear so there is software to straighten everything out, but it costs resolution.

Greatly improved 85mm should be the right choice. Now I am thinking of stick to Z60u and wait for Z80u or maybe switching to Xiaomi...

Is UDC camera going to be finally trully invisible, or again just greenish hole on greyish backgrounds?
The large sensor fast Ultrawide was one of the selling point of Z60 Ultra cameras. Taking that away means it is now worse than the Honor Magic 6/7 pro or even the Honor 200 pro.
Anonymous, 19 Nov 2024And all that + rest of the flahship specs for 399, right? It's around 899 euros.
This is a joke if the specs are real.
I want 35mm standard but if your going to put an ultrawide camera there make it at least 1/1.56' sensor at 17/18mm so you can get usable shots between the 18mm-35mm range.
If you put such a bad ultrawide on it why not just drop the ultrawide all together?
Give us a 1"- 1/1.3" 35mm sensor and 1/1.4 HP9 85mm telephoto.
I honestly dont care about anything under 35mm..........
Flagship phones shouldn't be putting anything smaller than 1/1.56" on a 3 lens set up or 1/2 on a 4 lens set up.
please someone make a 1" 35mm variable aperture main camera, 1/1.5" 18mm ultrawide and 1/1.4 or larger 85mm telephoto.
Or just give 2 cameras 1" 35mm variable aperture and 1" 85mm variable aperture telephoto.
I dont care if you have to make the camera bump bigger, hell even make the whole phone bigger for a bigger battery.

Many people are saying many things about the cameras.
I don't think 2x lenses are needed since 2x crops are usable nowadays.
17 or 18 mm x2=34 or 35. Yeah I agree with you that bigger sensor would have been better. But I'm not talking about it. Also the article doesn't say anything about it. Maybe the pictures. So 13mm is a welcome I guess.
Also it doesn't says telephoto lenses focal length. Some comments suggest 70mm=35x2. 😒
.....
Also in the photo, the lenses do look small. We'll see in 2 days how the phone actually is.

That's a straight up downgr... moreYeah, basically it looks like being the generation of increased battery sizes but no improvement in camera hardware. Maybe there will be some software improvements but as you say, so far basically all the new flagships have either maintained the same level cameras as last year or even slightly downgraded them. The Vivo x200 pro is the best of the new launches in terms of camera hardware, but even that is more of a sidestep rather than improvement compared to the x100 pro.

That's a straight up downgr... moretiny? where'd you get the info for the size?
and it wouldn't look perfect, i agree, but it should still do the job acceptably well.
Anonymous, 19 Nov 2024A true camera flagship with the worst selfie ever. Nobody needs to see every little imperfection in the skin on your face. Selfie cameras should be discontinued entirely imo

Apparently that's coming with a 35mm... moreThe LYT-808 is not that much more expensive than the LYT-701 (renamed IMX890), which the Z60 Ultra used. While you could reuse the LYT-701 on the ultrawide, the Z70 Ultra's downgraded ultrawide is really unacceptable. What the X200 Ultra is rumoured to do isn't comparable to this setup, not when the LYT-818 is noticeably more expensive than the LYT-808, and that one's 85mm telephoto uses an HP9, which is much more expensive than an OV64B, and also requires in turn much more expensive optics due to the massive size difference. What I asked isn't unreasonable (maybe besides the ultrawide, but come on, at least keep the LYT-701) for the price this thing gets sold for.

Apparently that's coming with a 35mm-Lyt-818 main sensor, an Lyt-818 ultrawide and a HP9 periscope (not sure of the focal length). The Nubia z70 ultra needs to control the cost as it's more of an entry level flagship in terms of pricing with similar pricing to base flagship models like the Xiaomi 15 and Vivo x200

Anonymous, 19 Nov 2024A true camera flagship with the worst selfie ever. I wouldn't judge Nubia's new UDC camera now as from what I've watched, its improved so much. Watch C4ETech's review of RedMagic 10Pro in Youtube and you'll see it has gotten way, way better as in its now looks like a real selfie photo.
