Before that it was just more optimized for their OS, now it's optimized for their beloved chipset as a bonus. So it's really not an unbiased benchmark. People should stop using it.

Literally apple only wins in that benchmark. In cinebench it gets thrashed. Same for Mobile chips in Antutu. Let's take a more comprehensive approach rather than relying on just Geekbench.

Having a node advantage doesn't always translate into better product. Just look at Nvidia vs AMD in the dGPU Space (8nm Samsung RTX 3080 vs 6nm TSMC RX-6800XT). Or even Intel vs AMD (14nm i9-9900k vs 8nm TSMC 3800X).

Worse now since they use a new instruction set for it that others do not have/ use, making it incomparable. There have been tons of videos comparing chips that showed Intel and especially AMD being close and even beating Apple, even with TDP limitations. The difference is that x86 chips use inefficient clocks by default. Not that it matters cause Apple can't even do a good job at cooling their oh so efficient chips anyways. And in the end nothing really matters cause MacOS is still a pain in the ass to use, and you are still required to use the integrated Apple Silicon GPU, which I wouldn't even call an iGPU, since there is no dedicated GPU available for them. Different systems demolish Apple Silicon just because of their flexibility. Apple Silicon is good, don't get me wrong, but the M1 was and is still by far the best chip they made. The others are just the typical generational upgrade, with the caveat of Apple messing up the cooling solution more and more, especially on the Macbook Air.

In most real world applications, the AMD Ryzen 9950X and 9950X3D will absolutely demolish the M4 Max and M4 Ultra, and then there's still the Threadrippers for those who want even more.
M4 is a toy for on-the-go emoji fisherprice machines

Everyone has forgotten that M4 is using new instruction set and for unknown reasons GeekBench is already utilizing it, while for x86 it is not using AVX. M4 is slightly faster than M3 but not as much as GeekBench shows. Only few, specific applications can benefit from new instruction sets. Overall M4 is the best but not with as margin as Geekbench shown.
