Man just stop ... you've wiped the entire arena floor with him already for rest of the year - he's just being his name-sake a vegeta-bholic or something. It happens when an Apple fan spends far too much time in their ecosystem and forums and doesn't get out much and just spits verbatim what they so amongst like minded fans worshiping the mighty Apple chorus. His understanding is a bit skewed as if we're back to single core CPU's.
Trust me I know myself - I've made the same mistakes for year's before I switched. :)

I'm complaining because the choice of words used in english does NOT lead to mean THIS website you're typing on.
You stated "I'm looking at this literal website ..."
'this literal website and seeing ..' doesn't mean on GSM ... its generic and inference could mean ANY website across the internet. The fact also remains you didn't even mention the phone in your original post to eliminate conjecture.
NOBODY knows what website you're refering to generically - ONLY YOU do.
Now if you stated "I'm looking at this here on GSMArena" ... that would leave no room room for inference or estimations it would be VERY clear. I've specifically done this on other threads news topic commentry myself right here on GSMArena, in order to leave no question which website I'm talking about.
See what I did there? No AI for auto-pilot needed to help you. ;)

I just proved to you that you're talking nonsense, you're in bad faith. When a smartphone needs power for editing, it uses its most powerful cores and not the other way around. Are you thinking?

Best example to show how important is single core take any budget smartphone with 8 core shitty chipset. You would believe phone would run fine, but it's sluggish and slow, why? Because it uses old efficiency cores and it's single core performance is abysmal, so when it needs to do basic tasks or anything more demanding it fails, because entire Android OS is designed to run on 1 or 2 cores everything. So having 8 shitty cores is basically a scam and it does perform horribly, as OS itself never use all 8 core or even 4 cores for functioning browsing or doing anything on your phone, besides video editing, recording high resolutions or benchmarks. That's why Apple only has 2 cores as main one in their Chipset, but they are so powerful they do everything you need. Other efficiency cores only comes in as helpers for editing, video recording or switches to do very basic tasks. It never was about how many cores you have it was always about how smart you use them to save battery, in this case Apple is unbeatable as single core performance is the best, that's why iOS so smooth and whatever, they have been doing Chipset game right from the start focusing on single core performance mainly.
jerem06, 18 Sep 2024Do you honestly believe that a single core is used for basic tasks? Main core mostly does everything with efficiency core switching for minor tasks. Never ever you have all cores doing anything. The only time all cores would do anything if you doing some crazy editing or decided to shoot 4k 120fps videos with HDR or 8K videos when you run your phone for 30 minutes and it dies 😊 Chipset itself are not designed to run on all full cores only for some exclusive tasks and wait for it.... Benchmarks 🤣 Get a tea, sit down educate yourself 😊
IpsDisplay, 18 Sep 2024Are you saying the 9300 overheated? Based on what
There isn't even a comparable chip a... moreYou know dude, I'm a Mediatek enjoyer too. But, I would prefer if Mediatek instead use like a 2x X5 cores + 6x A725 cores for the DM9400 as the DM9300 has very bad thermal efficiency and sustained performance. ARM's stock X series cores are made for pure performance and only to be used as 1-2 pairs if put on a smartphone.
To make DM9300 and 9400 work, a phone that has this should be like RedMagic phones that has internal cooling too as it overheats a lot. Dont get me wrong the SD8gen3s also overheats or throttles, but as not much as the 9300.
I hope Mediatek will resort to custom cores too like Qualcomm. Cause' we all know the performance of their DM9300 on the Vivo X100 series phones are really bad especially on sustained performance and efficiency. As per reviews and benchmarks, its sustained performance rating averages around 40%-44% on stress tests while SD8Gen3 can reach around 70% at least.
Using an all Ultra cores are awesome but, it seems they just want to reach the benchmark scores of their competitors. Efficiency is the game and the SD8Gen4's custom cores proves to be really efficient as per recent leaks, at least compared to ARM's stock X series cores.
