Anonymous, 13 Sep 2024Samsung is synonymous with Gimmicks and you want to take that to professional solutions? Haha... moreBecause Samsung is korean, while Apple sits in the US? They would have to go way out of their way for that and in the end it's still mostly a gimmick just like Apples solution. Nobody will actually use AirPods instead of a real hearing aid if they need one.

Georgi, 13 Sep 2024Samsung’s super hearing is a gimmick and is not an FDA approved hearing aid.Just because they didn't pay the FDA doesn't mean it is bad. It's not like the FDA is known for being particularly trustworthy, besides that, of course a korean company puts less focus on FDA approval compared to Apple who sit in the US. It literally does the same as Apples solution and in the end, it won't replace a proper hearing aid anyways, nor will a doctor tell you to just get AirPods instead of a professional solution

I knew someone who had a personal crusade against Apple's horrible implementation of actual hearing aid support. Now we know why. For someone with actual hearing issues, Airpods (or any other wireless earbuds or headphones) can NEVER be an acceptable solution due to the added latency and processing. Airpods may be cheaper than medical hearing aids, but they are simply not up to the task of a device that always has to work. (This is the same reason why "business" or "professional" electronic equipment is way more expensive: It's certified to always work.) Apple is misleading the public on this, and I sincerely hope the FDA and other regulatory bodies change their mind and slap down this nonsense.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation's food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation.

so for all the in-ear or some kind without any approval is just a Gimmik. even a 20$ in-ear can put it as features and said its Hearing Aid but without approval its just only a gimmik or wanna be because its not tested.

To all the people claiming that Samsung has been doing it for years, they are missing the point by a mile. Samsung’s super hearing is a gimmick and is not an FDA approved hearing aid.

HumbleBragga, 13 Sep 2024As a lifetime non-user (thus far) of Apple products, this is the type of stuff that compels me... moreOne could say that if there was no competition. All expensive headphones from all manufacturers do it. Apple had been left behind as always and now in a clever marketing way once again it is deceiving the world.

So why should anyone respect such a policy of any company? Samsung has been doing this for years now and has never advertised / defamed it as an original. The chipset has the ability to do so and offers it generously. Apple does not and waits for the right moment as defined by marketing. So, my friend, NO to Apple and any Apple with such a policy!

Im not saying its a bad product. A little bit expencive for what its offer beyond competition but thats it.

Yeah, more airpod time will probably result in more people needing hearing aids.

Nice. I bet EU will find a way to question this feature and put it in a court where Apple should pay a billion dollars. LOL
