GreatnessZ, 12 Sep 2024What innovation are you talking about GSMARENA? There is no innovation on this phone, because ... moreI believe Huawei was inspired by Samsung's Flex S and Flex G. I also agree going from two panels on a fold to three is more evolution vs. revolution, but Huawei brought it to the market first. No one will remember those concepts from Samsung.
Samsung is getting outclassed, but the problem isn't tiple foldables, camera hardware, panel sizes or the thickness when the phone is closed. The problem is something they are years away from fixing. They have no battery innovation.

Carol-, 15 Sep 2024Half a year from now, nobody cares about tri-folds.we might see Quad folds etc as novelty, but as long as the crease is visible, there will be limited users at such a high price
Anonymous, 12 Sep 20245-8 years from now, the price will come down.Half a year from now, nobody cares about tri-folds.
I broke my S23 ultra's screen, and it cost me 370£ to get ut fixed by Samsung repair. Anyway I have a feeling whoever is braking a Huawei will sell it as for parts or repair, rather than send it back to china for repair.
its not a corola or civic. If one can trully afford to buy it then... Glad to see innovation.
Chinese YouTube channel already said that this phone is not for average users
Price is lower than what Apple charges for iPhone 15 Pro Max which is $400 something for a screen 1/3rd the size and less tech
I can bet my two nuts that this is a dual-folding device. I'm definitely sure that what we had until this are just folding devices (folded or unfolded ONCE), but this came with dual hinges, which made folding/unfolding TWICE possible.
It is ONE screen, DUAL fold. A good achievement (even if, maybe, impractical), nonetheless. It's just not tri-fold as advertised and as the community has been calling it.
I've been using the Huawei mate 20x to or the last 6 years, and I've never ever had an issue with it or spent any penny on it . they built to last

The scandal happened because they pushed the technology that they don't have yet.
Fast charging is NOT only about the charger, but the battery chemical must be able to handle it too.

The average joe is not going to be buying one of these, unless they want to go into debt or blow a bunch of money that they should probably be spending on other things
I love this device and would defiantly buy it, but not at that price.
There is no reason to even charge that amount, I mean foldable screens both inward and outward have been common place for several years so its not like this is ground breaking technology, its a one of a kind device that relies on existing matured tech nothing more and the components inside are nothing revolutionary, just solid reliable parts.
The truth is that whoever has 2500 euros flying around to spend on this phone won't care about it's repair costs, even if a whole maintenance ends up costing extra 2500 euros.
vivoX100s enthusiast, 12 Sep 2024Samsung ring : im definitely a joke to youThat is far smaller than the Pixel Watch 3.

$2000 is already an insane price for what is still fundamentally a phone. Unless you're rich to where $3000 is chump change, this device joins the Apple Vision Pro as something I will never own in my lifetime.
Anonymous, 12 Sep 2024Horrible design, foldable screens are still horrible as well - and this one is on the outside,... moreHow could you say it is horrible though you haven't owned one yet ?
